Note that Nitrous Oxide is not mentioned here. While it can be effective, there are serious reliability and engine-damage issues that can result from using nitrous. It is not recommended. For more details check the FAQ section.

This was taken from the power stages section on the 2gnt web site. I just thought it should be seen by everyone that plans to get nitrous. I don't want to discourage anyone from getting nitrous but I want to educate everyone about it. I personaly would love to put a 50shot on my car. I would if I wasn't going turbo soon!!!

Not being a dick, but that applies to any form of forced induction. Nitrous gets its bad name cause its cheap. most people can afford a 500 dollar nitrous kit, so you get a lot of idiots with them, that blow their engine and blame the nitrous cause the 100-shot on their car with no fuel upgrades blew up. All these places say "nitrous is bad" "it isnt reliable", but a nitrous kit doesnt come with the upgrades to the fuel system like a turbo kit does...it all boils down to knowing what u r doing. but im sure there are people out there who have had a 50-shot, used it wisely, and blew up their engine anyways, just like im sure there are people with a turbo kit at 5psi that have blown their engine for one reason or another. i guess im rambling now.. emoji itsl ike Stan said before, shit happens, no matter what kinda power adder you pick. personally i think nitrous is just as safe as anything else... IF its used properly.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is that the same 2gnt.com site that says 50-70hp gains from headwork? Just cause its Team2GNT doesn't mean its right (as you can see there is alot of incorrect data and its several yrs old. Also note the power page update planned in the performance section). Go over to the turbo section and count the number of people getting or already have new bottom ends due to blown engines (for whatever excuse) and then come back here. Enough said!

No blown engines here yet emoji and with a few of us running it for a year or more with no problems what so ever. (knock on wood)
Anyway, use in moderation should be taken as that, either with nitrous or with psi. If you don't over do it your engine will thank you. emoji

Hmm... true... Alot of people are quick to jump on the fact that NOS is bad and harsh for any motor... And its also true that alot of this sayings come from people who has never had NOS personally and/or have only heard from other people or have friends who blew up using NOS... From what i see (and my own opinion), just ask anyone who's ever tried using NOS and blew up, they are quick to blame NOS... but what they dont realize is 98% of the fault was on the person, not the system... mainly caused by abuse/carelessness or some sort of electrical which is probably hooked up wrong by... THE PERSON, not the NOS system... and that 2% is probably poor maintenance of the car... Sure, most of them will say, "ALL I DID WAS FLOOR IT AND IT WENT BOOM!!!", but then after a closer look and a quick teardown of the motor, you will see if its either a human error or a mechanical error... And my point is, its still not the NOS system's fault... See, with any forced induction, youll have the same problems and challenges, just different methods of going through it... If you use it as recommended, keep your cars and all the components in top shape, and be sure to know your limits, your car will last, if not the same as a regular stock car... Im not being a smart ass or acting like i know it all, but think about it... Im just getting tired of all the lame excuses alot of people use... Sorry to vent... just wanna say what i had in mind while i still remember it...

Heres a good example of an excuse that i hear every weekend, if not, almost every weekend...

Scenario: STREETRACE
Loser says: I lost cuz i had a bad start
I lost cuz my clutch is going out
I lost cuz i missed a gear
I lost cuz you have more mods than i do
I lost cuz my gas was only 87octane
Lame ass excuses... i know it has nothing to do with the NOS subject, but my point is.... ADMIT it... if you lose, then you lose, congratulate and move on... live to race another day and use your losses as a stepping stone to motivate you and learn to drive better and work on your car to be faster.. U guys following me on this one?! I guess i got carried away... i apologize, but im sure if not all, alot of you guys feel the same way as i do... and we all know who uses these Excuses alot after getting whooped by a 2gNT! H@#&A$... =D go figure....

Happy honda Huntin!

Yup, being a Turbo'd person, I can vouch that turbo's do screw up engines... About 5 of us did within one month.

ANY forced induction will increase wear and tear on a "non-perfect" engine, and the weakest component will fail.

Fuel Fuel Fuel is the trick, and m-o-d-e-r-a-t-i-o-n. Don't think you're car is a super-car (I thought mine was and I messed it up...) Basically I ran at full throttle while on the border of lean & dangerous about 19 times....
