I read on an earlier post that NOS is engauged when the throttle switch is pushed down at WOT. My question is..how long can that switch be down..if you keep it at WOT for the entire 1/4 mile won't it blow up the engine or something?? Thanks

my shop told me til about 100mph...as long as u're at wot and the setup is right you should be getting the fuel, just not for use w/ high-speed-passes 'negative ghostrider, the pattern is full'

The only way that switch would be pressed during the full 1/4 mile would be if you have an automatic tranny, in a 5 speed most people with these cars don't power shift so the foot comes off the throttle while shifting. The switch is mounted behind the throttle under the hood, the throttle is what actually pushes that switch, but you have to have the system turned on inside the car before the WOT switch will even work. There really isn't a MPH limit, explination below. The only thing to worry about while actually running down the 1/4 mile is to stay away from redline, always shift before. (I ussually shift around 6500 RPM just to be safe.) If you hit redline there is a revlimiter which will cut ignition and fuel, if you are running nitrous at that time the car will go boom due to lack of fuel. Nitrous and no fuel is a NO NO!

Much easier to be consistant with your times, also somewhat safer as the tranny controls the shifting. The only thing is if for some reason the tranny decides not to shift and bounces off the rev limiter. Only time I have ever seen this happen is when the tranny/tranny fluid got too hot. I think Level 10 makes upgrades for your tranny also. If you run too much power through the tranny without upgrades you run the risk of screwing up end clutches and torque convertor. Although I haven't seen too many problems with auto's running a 50 or 60 shot but from there I would worry more.
