The only problem with my current direct port kit is....that its sitting in my room still!!!!! between school and work, i havent had time to take the wet kit out and install the DP kit. my grandmother passed away this past sunday and i was going to fly up for the funeral in Michigan yesterday....but you know what happened yesterday. soon as i get it in ill take some pics and post em for ya.

actually a few people here have ran 75shot for quite a while nitrous1997_RS being one of them. and as far as engine strenght. you have a turbo kit that boosts us almost double the power we already have that being about another 140hp or so... so i honestly see no reason a equal distrubution of amount of nos (being direct port) that 80 would really cause any major damage. just would wanna make sure that your compression in all the cylinders is no farther off then about 3-7 points off from one another. 80 divded by 4 is 20 shot per cylinder and i honestly dont see that as too devistating. but maybe stan or michelle could help us out better...

I ran a 75-shot wet kit for a little over a year. i then rebuilt the engine, not out of necessity, but cause i had plans of a much bigger shot. when my dad tore down the block and looked at the pistons/rods. they were in PERFECT shape. so were the cylinder walls. BUT, i didnt use the nitrous every time i got the chance. i only used it when someone else wanted to get their ass kicked... or when i was at the track. i didnt use it on the way to school to avoid being late or to amuse myself. this is the key to keeping any nitrous fed engine healthy for a long time, and that is moderation. just like you cant drive around all day boosting on stock internals, you cant spray all the time with it either. i think an 80-shot would be ok as long as it is direct port. DP is much more evenly distributed than a wet kit, and its just 5 more hp than i was running. get colder plugs, new wires, and a Walbro fuel pump and you will be set.the pump isnt necessarily "needed" but i would strongly suggest it. a NOS tech told me that you couldnt run lower than an 80-shot on a direct port system....but he didnt tell me why. i dont see any reason why you couldnt buy,say, 60 or 70 shot nitrous/fuel jets to run on a direct port kit and be really safe that way. can anyone shed more light on this?

well thanks for the info guys. I am getting my mani ported as i type this. but i will be sending it to a shop to be tapped for Nozzles. NOS has a new line of Annular nozzles that they say to be superior in atomization and in delivery. one drawback they shoot straight not at a 45 or 90 degree angle, and those of us that have seen our maniflods underbelly know it will be VERY hard to put in a straight type nozzle due to the curvature of our lower intake runners. I may have a good welder weld a very short tube on each runner to allow for a good threading of the nozzle. but again im not sure if it will be worth it or will it stick out too far and hit my firewall?....hmmmm

ok in the middle of getting new plugs. i was in debate on the plugs to get. any thoughts?....i will be running a 80 shot ive decided so should i go 1 range colder?...or 2?....i will be going to forged internal soon but prolly not soon enought to warrant buying them cold enough for a 120 shot. any preferences on the type of plug?...i currently have the NGKs i like them but dont know the code for the colder plugs...one range colder than stock?
