I know this has been discussed but I figured I would ask anyways. I have heard many people say that it doesn't really matter which kit I get NOS or NX express (so long as it is a wet kit). I was at a speed shop today and the guy was telling me that NX Express was the BEST kit to get. It is better than NOS. I asked him why, and he said that NX express was designed for imports. But that is all he could say. So I ask, Is there really a difference between the two kits?
I just bought a kit for my 97 from bottlefedracing.com and those guys are supposed to be very well versed in Nitrous and they basicly said that NOS is still using outdated technology, and NX is more state of the art, so to speak.

The guy was probably trying to sell you the kit with the best mark up for him to make money. NX makes kits for all makes, not just imports. There is a Viper here in Tampa that is running a NX kit made just for Vipers.

NOS has been in the business for a long time. Wheather it is "outdated" or not they are using what works. I really am not biased as far as which kit to get, either are great company's, what bugs me is that some shops think one is better over the other when in reality they are almost the same, just with a different brand name.

And what technological advances are utilized in NX kits? There aint sh*t to either one except a bottle, braided teflon lines, two solinoids, jets and a nozzle. Only advance I ever hear them talk about is these damn shark and pirahna nozzles. NOS has designed a few new nozzles too over the past few yrs. Wooohooo such a break through! Basic nitrous is arcaic by nature (open and close solinoids ia all they do. natural pressures and a jet to limit it does the rest). Now if he said the Venom was more technologically advanced he might have something.
PS "It was designed for imports"- NOS had import kits before anybody ever knew who NX was. Get the NOS catalog and I garauntee you their import catalog is twice that of NX. Besides what does that mean anyway? Our engine is domestic (unless you consider made in mexico imported). Thats like the Shogun gas treatments "1rst especially designed for imports" as if imports use triangle pistons instead of cylindrical. Thats the laimest explanation I've ever heard.
Personally I dont think there's a bit of difference between the two worth mentioning.

HEY GUYS, just for the record i dont think theres is a differance either. i was just saying thats what the guy told me, if NOS would have sold me the kit for my car with a free pressure gauge for 500.00 shipped, i would have there product instead. i agree, the design is arcaic and simple, not much room for wizardry!!! just so ya know where i stand...

I have a NX kit, and i agree with Stan....isnt shit different between the two systems mechanically that make any reallyu big gains. one little thing though, "supposedly" NX rates their shots at the WHEELS, and NOS rates theirs at the flywheel. a local shop here has a dyno chart from a mustang cobra with a 125 shot from NOS, and a 125 shot on the same car from NX, and the NX actually DID rate a 121 hp gain at the wheels, and the NOS was closer to 100 i think. needless to say this shop is a NX dealer..go figure. i once raced another NT eclipse that was spraying a 60-shot from NOS back when i was running a 50-shot, from a roll, and i pulled him. ah well...either kit is great, happy spraying! u will LOVE that first shot.

I checked out Venom's website because you keep asking about this kit. They have no info about it on their web site so I can't answer this question, yet. You should call Venom and ask them how it works and see if it will work with our car. I am going to try to find out how it works and I'll let you know.

No argument just a sort of FYI, both brands are great. The only way they could possibly do this is to dyno the kit made for each specific car on the car, highly unlikly but possible. Because everyone knows powertrain loss is different on every variation of car. Either way there will be differences dependant on how the individual car performs. (example: 2 stock RS's were dyno'ed by I think Import Hooter One car had 80,000+ miles, it dyno'ed at 111hp to the wheels, the other with 20,000+ miles dyno'ed at 118 hp to the wheels.) You know what I mean, I just don't really like the ad tactic ya know
