#43254, "gauge questions..."

What gauges would you recommend with a 50 or 75 shot (probably dry, but possibly wet)? Can these all be mounted on one of those pillar pods? Is a compression test a necessity before getting nitrous like it is for turbo? Thanks.

You dont NEED any gauges ( I didn't have any most of my nitrous life) but I'd get AF and Fuel pressure as my top 2 and nitrous pressure next (convienience gauge, nothing telling to save your engine). You can mount all of them in an a A pillar as long as the fuel pressure is elec or has an isolator and same for the nitrous pressure.

Same would apply for nitrous as turbo as far as a compression test. Again I didn't bother with either.

any idea on what kind of times to expect on 50 or 75 shot? Don't forget I'm auto.

i have a 75 shot on there right now and haven't completed a full pass (long story). either way, w/ my 50 i got a 15.1 ...my best n/a was a 16.3 ...so in theory if i were to get some slicks i could be well into the 14's w/ my 75shot...f*ckit (i said a month ago), the turbo is going on this xmas, and the nitro is being setup to run a 20shot in first gear RIGHT off the line up to about 3500rpms til the turbo spools up. i'll let everyone know how it goes

Nice times emoji With a 75 shot, slicks and good driving you should be in the 13's.
Our best times NA (16.3)and with a 50 shot (15.0)are almost identical. (60 shot was a 14.6)
Actually we are hopeing to get into the very high 13's yet with a 60 shot. (long shot but worth a try)
For the guy with an auto, with good driving you should be able to pull off times aprox 1 sec. slower than a manual with the same mods and shot.

wow, i thought i was off the pace. that made my nite. wierd we have almost the exact same times. cool though, very cool...either way, i was spending too much to fill up my bottle, so i'm getting a custom built intercooled system w/ everything, and i'll still have the bottle..

how do you run your 60 shot?? i mean in what gears and stuff. when i had a 50 i could hit it in first and be ok traction wise, but definately not w/ the 75. i hit it in the middle of second which would increase the times consideribably...right? i did try and run it at the track w/ a 75. once in first (bad idea) and once in second, ok, but only got a 15.5, and it was a good run. i had hit the nitro at the top of 2nd gear, almost 3rd. thats the only thing i can come up with. either way, if i get some slicks or some dragradials could i hit the 75 in first and not just sit at the line looking like a fool liten' up my tires??
