How helpful would the Apexi S-AFC be for me with me running nitrous? If I should get it , is $310 shipped a good price?

Good to have for NA/future purposes but virtually useless with nitrous. Maybe not useless but better serve yourself using the jets to tune with. If you plan on the venom with no jets it already uses feedback fuel delivery, more than an AFC could ever do (although you have no control over the AF ratio its programmed to).

Ive got the venom 1000 and have a few questions..

Well here is the deciding factor for me getting a S-AFC and BBK 255lph fuel pump.

Can i tune the SAFC to make my car run like stock (ie. not rich as a pig and getting crudy gas mileage)? Im assuming yes....since thats what its for.

But, when i run juice (which isnt very frequent)....how hard is it to just tune it to dump MORE fuel at that time. In other words, just bump the fuel curve UP to deliver more under WOT. Couldnt i just move the last bar (5000-6000rmp) bar up to max?

Im new at this so bear with me. In short -

-Make it run like stock for everday.
-Make it run rich on race days.

When you run juice dont worry about tuning with the AFC. The venom is gonna pulse your injectors to what they need to deliver for X amount of N. It wont shoot a shot higher than your injectors can deliver at 80-100% duty cycle (cant remember) so richening further will likely cause the venom to be limited to a smaller shot than the fuel system is capable of or not activating. Running nitrous your probably already at or close to 80%-100% duty cyle @ a 50-60hp shot.

The whole point of the venom (other than the activation programs) is how it pulses the injectors and monitors the o2 sensor to keep things in check. Richening it wont give any more power and safety is build in. You could try leaning it but who knows at what point the venom's gonna shut it down.

With the venom no point in a fuel pump with stock 235cc injectors. 235cc At 80-100% duty cycle and stock fuel pressure you'll never over tax the stock fuel pump.

Well i have 6 injectors not 4 caues i have a v-6. Plus i can shoot 85 safely NOW without a bigger pump. I know a guy running 100-120 shots on his venge with a bigger pump, safc and STOCK injectors. Dont ask how.....it just works.

You just answered it. You have 2 additional injectors which comes out to about 400cc of extra fuel but only 24 extra hp from the factory. More room to play with.

If he has the v6 he doesn't need the fuel pump to run that size shot like Stan said he has more fuel as it is to play with due to the 2 extra injectors, so that would help out alot.

Hey Stan, does the Venom VCN-1000 do this also? Does that mean that it is pretty safe to run nitrous using this system? What other things are there to watch out for, because from what you said it seems like the Venom will stop itself if there is not enough fuel?

Both will shut off the nitrous regardless of what idiotic things you do except possibly altering the o2 sensor signal. I dont recomend using an AFC becuase the venom is already manipulating the fuel system electronics. Never piggyback two tricksters on the same system. Thats why you cant use a typical dry kit with a turbo kit, they both manipulate the regulator.. Who knows what happens when two devices work on one system at the same time.

PS. not that the Venom is manipulating the MAP sensor like the AFC but who's to say manipulating the AFC wont send altered signals to the Venom as it does the PCM which is why I dont like the idea of using both.

Oh ok thanks, so I guess my main question is "is this a fool proof system"? Will it be safe to run nitrous no matter what with this system if it's only a 50 shot? Also, even with my higher compression (10.6:1) and ported head? Thanks.
