#42155, "Used nitrous for the first time, have some questions"

ok, yesterday I installed my nitrous and got to test it out. I raced a bmw last night killed it. It was one of the biggest rushes i've ever had. I installed the WOT switch and the main activation switch. What I did was floor it off the line then when I hit about 40mph I flicked the switch. im auto btw. When I hit the switch my car felt like it stutterd for a sec and then I took off. Should I just keep the switch on then floor it when I reach 35-40mph? Could that have caused my engine to stutter?

Thanks,

do you have a purge? If you dont then the stutter could have been the nitrous that had "warmed in the lines" before the nitrous from the bottle actually kicked in. I could be wrong though, but the same thing happened to me before i got my purge.

I don't know the shift point of the auto tranny but just make sure you aren't spraying below 3000 rpm.

Yep, purge valve it is. The gas is reaching the intake before the nitrous. Purge valves are cool for post-kill taunting too! emoji I wish I didn't have to sell my kit. emoji

It can also be the auto tranny if you hit it rite before it slips threw a gear it can cause the same effect, happened to me.

It can't be the tranny because he said he activated the system at 4000 RPMS.
