#41601, "My car finally has some balls"

Well i hooked up my 50 shot yesterday...what a difference it made....wow...my boy who hooked it up for me said not to spray in 5th....just wondering what everyone thinks about that and if anyone is doing it or avoiding doing so....also once i turn my bottle off there will be some left in the lines..will this just leak out? my guage is still showing the full amount...or should i get a purge kit to kill that ??

no you dont wanna spray in 5th not good and why would you want to anyway? As for the nitrous in the lines... yeah it will bleed out after you close the bottle but it would be good to get that purge as soon as you can so you will be able to clear your lines out specially if you have had the bottle open for a while.

I'd use the purge after you turn off your bottle also. It'd be better to relieve the pressure from the silenoid. This will give you a longer span between silenoid rebuilds.

What are you guys running (1/4 mile) with the nitrous "on" and then with the system turned off?

Can the bottle really drop my e/t's 3-4 seconds?

Think my car is cursed!

I ran 18.3 last night! I thought a 75shot is supposed to get me in the 14's?

you being auto i would think you should be running like low 15's. The more you do to your car the more that 75 helps out. Are you sure you were spraying? I ran 14.7 on 4lbs of pressure w/ no bottle heater, 18" inch wheels and a 2.4 60' time. Post your timeslip so i can see where that 18 sec pass is coming from. a 75 shot should give a least 15.1....oh yeah i drive 5spd

yeah in a 10lb bottle the place that i got it filled from only had 4lbs to fill up the bottle. i dont know what the actual pressure of it was but i know when the bottle gets low the only way you get a full shot is by a bottle heater to have enough bottle pressure. Otherwise it spits nitrous instead of spraying it.

I don't have a bottle yet. My friend was supposed to hook me up with the kit for cheap but it never showed up! I can't believe my car is actually that slow! Should I be running faster NA or is this normal?

man, some stock auto 2gnt run under 18 sec in quarter mile, so you should be a lot lower with a 75 shot. i would think you would be somewhere in the 15 sec range.

I know I'm a bit late but... why don't you want to spray in 5th? too much for the engine or tranny to handle or too fast?

The 2gnt with an automatic is one of the slower cars I've ever been in. The auto is just plain lazy, and I don't think he could cut from 18.3 to 15's with just a 75 shot, he'd still probably run in the mid to low 16's. If you want a car to be fast at the track and its not a muscle car, don't be lazy and just swap in the manual, there's plenty on this board who've done it. Good luck with the n20 though.

I'm already saving up some "Custom" work on my motor then I'll swap over to manual.

With motor work I hope to drop to mid to low 17's and with stick in I should run mid 15's or better.

Hopefuly

hey man, you should be way faster than 18 sec with a 75 shot. you should be in the 15's with auto. check your jets, make sure the larger jet is in the nitrous side. the lower is your fuel. i know it sounds ass backwards but its right.if your sprayin too much fuel it will make your car slower because it floods the intake with too much fuel and you run very rich. that will also foul your plugs so check them also. when you hit that 75 right you will know, it will snap your head back, so if its not doin that somethings not right. by the way whats your pressure at. it should be around 900 to 1000lbs.

let me know, i've encountered about every possible problem with runnin nitro.
