I just ran my very first time at the track..i have a afx udp, cold air intake, very fresh engine w/ 6k on it,energy suspension motor mounts, CF dF clutch and my 50 shot...best i could muster today at the track was a 15.9...sorry but this is disappointing to me..i expected a lot closer to a 14.9ish....i was spraying in 1st at WOT which didn't help but to make the tires spin...won't be doing that again...second my tire pressure wasn't reduced in the front, i'm running on Yokohama Paradas....I have a 98 GS by the way...my tank pressure according to my guage was only 6 ish...i think this is really low but i just bought the kit about a month ago and this was my first time at the track...i'm considering buying a fuel pump and upgrading the shot...anyone running bigger shots on the stock fuel pump....plus i'm very close to getting a MSD ignition which will help on the lauches and will retard the timing for the nos...what will retarding the timing during spraying do, make things safer or make me run faster times? Sorry for all the questions...just was expecting faster times w/ the nos than what i ran...is that normal i guess?? your help would be greatly appreciated....

Damn yo, you should be in the high 14's, no more than low 15's with your mods. I ran a 16.2 with just intake and exhaust and heavy ass 17" rims. I'm running around a 50-60 shot now. I beat my friends GS-T that runs a 15.1 in the 1/4. So I'm probably in the 14's. What kind of trap speeds are you hitting? Try hitting the N2O in 2nd instead of 1st. Do you have a bottle heater? That would help bring the bottle to around 85 degrees which brings the pressure to around 900lbs (Optimum for N2O power). You should be able to run at least a 75 shot with the stock fuel pump. Somebody jump in if I am mistaking on any of this so called knowledge....

75 is correct. thats what most of the guys try and run.... just make sure you are tuned correctly and spray in second. A couple of guys ran the 100 shot as well but 1 of the guys cant make it the whole way down the track because his car kept leaning out. MSD well help with keeping a strong spark, therefore burning the fuel better than stock. Usually having the bigger shots blow the spark out which causes you to f*** shit up. (KNOWS FROM EXPERIENCE) Changing valves sucks.

You definitly should be at a mid 14 with a 60 shot, (14.4-14.6) with minimal traction issues.

Well i had really good reaction time but like i said i shouldn't have been spraying in 1st gear....that sucked b/c all i did was just spin...next time i'm going to hit it in 2nd....my trap speed was 86 mph.....i know of a lot of stuff i could be doing different that will help me out....i have ordered a 255 lph fuel pump and i'm upgrading the jets to 75....i know i can break into 14's w/ all the stuff i have done....and i will let a little tire pressure out too....can some of you guys post your times w/ the mods you have done if its not in your sig...thanks...just want to know what to expect....

I found out what my leaning out problem was at 100 shot. I would lean out at the same time every time. The stock auto tranny in my 95' avenger was hesitating between 2nd and 3rd. So I went to the tranny shop and they reprogramed it. It took about 10 minutes but the tranny guy told me that it should be rebuilt. The stock 95' tranny doesn't have the update codes in the program yet. That's what the tranny guy told me. Hope this will help anybody running an auto.
