I have an Apexi' AVC-R Boost controller.....and I'm not sure if I like it yet. The turbo spools kinda slow and I think it's from the AVC-R settings being wrong (15psi @ 4,200rpm sounds slow for a Ball Bearing turbo). Is anyone here running a Manual Boost controller on the Star Kit with the external wastegate? If so I wanna know how to hook up a manual boost controller! Could someone please take the time and exsplain for me? I would appreciate it! Thanks

Whats Up Greg...Well, I just got a Turbo X Manual Boost controller and I installed it Friday. And Right away, I felt it. It seemed like boost came on Much sooner. When I drive around town (like to work) I don't push my car at all. I shift at 3,000rpm' and without pushing it, boost comes in at 2,600rpms!! WoW...I use to have to push it to make boost come in that early!!
They are Very easy to hook up, in fact the easiest install I've ever done!! You just take the hose that goes from the wastgate to the compresser side of the turbo and splice in the BC. I hooked mine up in about 5min. The hardest part was finding a place to mount the boost controller.
I couldn't be any happier!!! Thank You Wyatt:-)

Do you have the standard or high performance model? everyone keeps telling me dont waste my money on an expensive boost controller, just get a good manual or profec B/HKS EZ and I'm starting to beleive them more and more. Fuzzy logic fancy controllers ALWAYS get mixed reviews. Evryone seems to be happy with good manual and low feature boost controllers. The only feature laden electronic one I've heard no complaints about and fast spool up too is the Blitz Dual solinoid unit (and I've checked every turbo board and site imaginable).

He stated he had a Turbo X MBC. They have a standard model and a high performance model which uses a ball and spring along with a bleeder mechanism. Not sure what mechanism the standard model uses but the consensous has been ball and spring untils are great and bleeder models limit boost and are spike prone.

I have the standered Turbo X BC. They say that the Ball and Spring help spool up, but I noticed a difference in spool up right away. If there is that big of a difference without the ball and spring, I wonder what the ball and spring one will do!!!
