#40098, "Other Options to HRC Stage IV.......I Need Advice!!"

I have a 99 GS with a HRC Stage II, missing link, 2.5" Downpipe, and a 3" Cat-back. My motor is being rebuilt now with 8.8:1 JE Pistons, Rings..etc. Crower Billet Rods. I have a Profec B I need to install. I was going to upgrade to a HRC Stage IV as I would like to be boosting 15-25 psi. What other options do I have besides the Accel DFi, Accel 625 injectors, and Hahn ignition upgrades. I am not worried about price. So anyone boosting 15psi+ let me know your setup and how you like it. Thanks.

Corbin's 8-injector setup or full stand-alone are about your only other options.

I have the Accel DFI gen 6 and 625's. I am running the Crane ignition box also. The setup works very well, but is tough to dial in. The gen 7 software is much more user friendly and intuitive. If I had it to do over again, I would probably go with Corbin's setup. My setup runs well, mid 12's on slick *should* be no problem with a good driver and 20 psi. I'll be shooting for 11's when I go to the s20g. It's not bad on the street, especially since I put on the Missing Link.

I'll be taking the car to a dyno soon, and the place I'm going to works with the DFI all the time. Hopefully I'll see some good progress from that.

Is the gen 7 Accel Dfi out yet? Who has corbins setup? How do you like it?

The gen 7 has been out for at least a year now. No one uses it (on this board) that I know off. It is a VERY nice system and it can control spark as were the gen 6 can't because it is for distributor ignitions. So no need for the Crane or MSD.

I also use the same set up as Greg and I share the same opinion. HRC was working on a plug and play harness for our cars but last time I talked to them it was on hold.

Greg you know you want to share your map when you get done at the dyno finding a dyno shop that knows the DFI is like striking gold.

Could I use the Greddy Emanage instead of the Accel DFI? Then could I still use the Accel/HRC 625cc injectors? I want to boost around 20-25 psi....and I am trying to figure out what the best setup would be. How streetable is your vehicle with the HRC stage IV? How easy is it to tune? Thanks for the help.

As far as I have read 550cc are the largest you can go on the E-manage for our cars. If you could go over that I would get it for sure.

550cc should be ok for 15-20 highest.

The 625cc injectors are low-impendence injectors so they won’t work.

I don't think HRC is done with the interface to our cars yet. I know Len is running it in his Neon though.

When I get it tuned, I'll share the map with anyone that wants it. The shop I'm going to has done nationally recognized work with Mustangs (their core business), but is also doing some high profile import stuff now (The yellow Teg from USCC for one). I expected them to be real dicks about dynoing my car, but the guy was very helpful. My cams should be here this week, so it's about time to start thrashing - since the tracks are already open here.

I'm running corbin's 8 injector setup at 15 psi and it runs well. It is very time consuming to build, install and tune, but seems to be worth it so far.
