Is there any maintenance that needs to be done to a side mount intercooler? Like cleaning it or anything?

I will usually take a pressure washer and push out any debris that gets stuck into the fins. I get the high pressure water into the wheel side of the IC, so it pushes out any crud from the front of the IC. There really isnt much need to clean out the inside of the IC, unless you are getting oil and crap into the inlet, which you shouldnt be if your turbo is in good shape. Keeping the fins clean and free flowing for air is necessary for proper cooling of the air.

just use some simple green and a garden hose. don't use a pressure washer cause you can damage the fins on the intercooler. if you damage the fins your cooling efficency will be lowered. this will then increase the temp of the air going into your intake... emoji

Hehe, well i didnt mean put the washer wand right ontop of the IC emoji Keep it at least a few feet away and it will be fine. I've done it many times already, and no bent fins. Just use your head.
