I'm sure most of you have heard my raped pig in action. Question is, when i go up to the 450's (if it will ever happen!!!), and have to drop my idle pressure even more, it's gonna get louder. Am I gonna toast this thing?

it appears that the lower you make your Fuel pressure the louder the HRC fuel pump gets. I would recommend that you get a walbro intank, it doesen't matter if it is a high or low pressure unit, and swap the intank out, but still keep the hrc pump inline. it will quiet things down ALOT. trust me, alot of people on the board have done this and saved their ears. lates james

Yep, i noticed when i put the 310's in that the lower idle pressure made the pump a bit louder. Not a whole lot more, but a slightly more. Hell, its loud enough as it is, a bit more was drop in the bucket If i ever get the money, the Walboro intake will be going in for sure. I'm used to the Accel inline noise now, but even at times it gets on the nerves. People are ALWAYS asking me what the hell that noise is when they ride in the car..hahah.. "dude, its just the Flux Capacitor!"

http://134.88.226.158:443/gallery/cross_10-14-02/MOV00046.MPG is a movie with the "raped pig" pump easily heard in the backround. the movie is suppose to be my friend in his '95 300zxtt messing around in a parking lot, but you can't see crap. the only point of the movie is to show how loud the thing really is at idle.

Anytime you lower fuel pressure, the accel inline fuel pump will definitely change sound and become louder. The pump wants to move large amounts of fuel and it is being restricted not only by the regulator but by how much it can draw through the stock intank pump.
To get rid of most of the noise, do the Walbro modification - definitely worth the $90 bucks. I barely hear my inline pump from inside the car now. If I am outside of the car and standing by the passengers side, I can still hear a slight hum of the pump. This is is good because I know that the "rapped ape" pump is working.
I don't think there is much of a cost difference between the High Pressure and low pressure models - they may be the same price. I know that running stage II boost levels on just the Walbro High Pressure pump is asking for trouble but I figure if I am under boost and the Accel pump quits working, the walbro *may* buy me a small amount of time to get out of the throttle and not do any engine damage if I watch my A/F guage closely.

Wow, that vid is way quieter than mine. That's actually how quiet mine is now that I have the Walbro 255HP and massive rubber insulation on it. When all I had was the Accel and stock intank, OMG.
