#38918, "3000GT BOV"

Has any heard the 3000GT BOV that comes with the hrc kit. I am tempted to buy strauss's one, but trying to figure it is sounds alright or if there is a link to hear it.

why, does it sound loud or to low. I know greddy or tial is best, but as far as to start will it be fine.

I think for your application it will be fine. There are plenty of people on here that like the sound of it. I didn't use it because I was planning on running 16psi+, but for your application(~8psi) it will be fine......plus you can't beat $40! The Greddy and Tial are around $250 each brand new, and the 3000GT BOV isn't used either. I'm not trying to be a saleman here, just giving you my .02 cents emoji

Blow really hard through a toilet paper tube. That's what the 3kGT BOV sounds like.

Oh, and they tend to leak at about 10+ psi.

But they're very cheap, and they do work for Stage I/II power. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2403167638&category=33742

I agree with Strauss. It doesn't matter if it leaks at 10+ psi, you'reonly going to run 8. If you are really set on the GReddy, I sell them for $205 shipped. PM me if you are interested.

I ready had no issues with the 3000GT bov. Well except it's black plastic but I am sure you could paint it. The sound is audible enough at 8psi. A normal "PSSH". I just installed a HKS SSBOV, and love it. I think most aftermarket bov's, especially the $200+ :o, are nice. Greddy and Tial are good recommendations. Others like the Turbo XS models. Plenty to choose from. emoji

Kindda makes you wonder how the 3000GT BOV's performs on an actual 3000GT. I mean, those guys are pushing way more psi than us stock.

They sound hella nice on 3000gt's too. My friend owns one and they sound great imo. Be it the plastic toy looking things they are.

A nice alternative to the 3000GT BOV is a 1G BOV. It sounds pretty nice and you could get it polished. You can snatch one up for about $50.
