i have a 95 GS, new engine

how long will a turbo kit last ? i commute err 50 minutes each way everyday day and am thinking of getting a HRC stage 2... is that advisable or will the commuting kill the turbo?

whenever i hear turbos for sale i see someone ask, how many miles on it so it makes me wonder if they have a short life span?

I know I ask that when I'm trying to find out if it is close to needing a rebuild. Others may have different reasons.

As with any part, if you treat it poorly it will not last long. But there are TONS of 16G's on the road with 50+k on them. Just rember to let her cool down properly and treat it with synthetic oil. Should be good for a long time. But if you abuse the turbocharger then what do ya expect. Say 10K on one that is hammered everyday and never let to cool down. Of course the turbo will probly outlast your stock engine.

The tiny T-25's that spin their guts out to boost can last over 100k miles. a T3/T4, or 16g should last a good LONG time, especially if most of the time is spent on the interstate, where you really dont put much stress on it.

Yeah, and get a 5psi actuator and boost controller so you can turn down the max boost for your commute.

Not such a good idea losing traction when you weren't meaning to change lanes THAT fast.

I carpool with a bunch of old timid japanese ladies that won't run yellow lights.

I've been boosting an average of 15 psi, 7 days a week, for about 12K miles now, and everything seems good so far. Like the others have mentioned, how well you take care of your car will determine how long the engine and car will last.
