#38600, "Cometic Gasket Vs HKS gasket for HRC kit?"

I called HRC the other day because im going to get stage 2 kit very soon. I wanted to upgrade my engine a little to play it safe, so I want to some of the parts reccomended for stage III and on (gaskiet, upgraded clutch, fuel injectors etc). They reccomend Cometic Gasket as a stronger replacement gasket, and gave me their number. When I called, the lady there didnt really want to talk to me, and I left my #, but they never called back. Also, when I asked HRC the price of these gaskets, they said around $60, in which they said afterwards was "expensive, right?" All I know is theres a guy I know at Mitsubishi that mods his dsm's, and says the way to go is HKS, but theyre arounf $200. I just want to know if any of you are familiar with these two products, have used them, and what do you think of them, as I heard theres been alot of blown stock gaskets from these turbo kit installs. Not sure if its due to overboosting, or running rich, but again, a strong engine is a safe engine. Is HRC being biased to HKS, or is Cometic really that good?

I may be wrong but I am pretty sure HKS doesn't make a gasket for the 420A engine, they do make parts for the turbo eclipse with a 4g63 engine though.

I was looking into it but never got it i believe from what i hard last that someone here was gonna use it but never heard it again.People at the neons.org state that it is really good product

So I guess most people with these kits have gone the route of Cometic Gasket then. Still would like to hear any stories or personal opinions on this product since its the only one HRC seems to reccomend. They claim its the strongest and the best. I blew my head gasket on my 1g, and I just dont want to ever go through that again.

The cometic gasket is a multi-layer HG that apparently seals perfectly and can support plenty of horse power. I just saw one first-hand on Sunday and it looks pretty mean. It is going in a fully built 4G63 which means well over 400hp, and the owner knows what he is doing.

im your source for upgraded clutches ive got a group buy going on right now so give me a pm and ill let u know the best clutch for your application...

p.s. ill make u a slammin deal on it emoji

the stock MLS head Gasket is fine for stage 3 boost levels

the only upgrade i would do is the tti f u have a stock bottom end or the felro gasket because it uses a silicon sealant...

hks does not make a gasket for us...

if your looking for anything besides the actuall HRC kit hit me up i will make u a deal

Bill

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.
