#38586, "what boost controllers are you guys using?"

i used to just have nothing, then i redid the wastegate vacuum hose to the back of the intake manifold, then i got the Hallman MBC from Mach V, and recently i broke down and got the Blitz Dual SBC Boost Controller Spec S off of ebay because i really wanted an electronic boost controller where i could set boost from the cockpit. i also heard that faster spool-up is achieved from using electronic units. i almost got the greddy profec-b, but decided to get the blitz unit for some reason.

what do you guys think? anyone else using this unit?

I'm using a Turbo XS dual stage MBC with a toggle switch mounted on the center console. It works great and holds solid boost, but I'd rather have an electronic boost controller (more lights inside emoji )

I am using the Turbo XS high performance manual boost controller. It holds steady boost pressure with minimal spiking. If I had the extra money I would have gotten the profec-B though....

i have the dejon tools dual stage, hi - lo, boost controller..i mounted a toggle switch in the cockpit under the hazards button...i really like it, it switches between your wastegate setting and whatever you set the boost controller is set to....i have the Star kit and i can see how anyone lives w/o a boost controller..the delta gate leaks out so bad on the way to full boost...i have mine set to 6 psi and the boost controller set to 11 right now b/c i haven't hooked up the dis 2 prog yet....for the money its great, it was only like 80 bucks..for a dual stage you really can't beat it...i will eventually set up to a Profec B w/ the remote switch but this works great in the mean time...i give it two thumbs u emoji

my suggestions are the
avcr spexi boost controller

any of the profec line and my favorite

the Profec o1 boost controller witha 5" LCD screen

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.

I use the HKS EVC EZ. It wasn't cheap but I couldn't do it any other way emoji It sits under the headunit. Very very easy to work. Two knobs. One turns the unit off or on, the other knob adjust boost. I was always told boost should not be adjusted by numbers on units or by guessing, only by the boost gauge. And this unit does just that. It is discountinued now and I am not sure if the model was changed. The new HKS one is sick. But you may still find one around if you really search. Here's a pic.

I'm using the Dejon 2-stage MBC. I have the switch mounted under the radio, and when I switch to high boost (25 psi) it also activates the 2nd rev limiter (7000 RPM'S) on my Crane box so I can run it HARD at the track. emoji
