how about if i word it like this: "in order to run my new turbo, whats the best type of oil press. gauge to compliment the overall saftey of the motor/turbo system: mechanical or electrical?" does that make it a turbo question?

so mechanical actualy brings oil to the gauge itself? its not just a pressure diaphragm type thing, it really allows oil into the cockpit area?

I would get a electric gauge. Also, its not imperative that you have one type over the other when it comes to oil pressure. I consider oil pressure a good gauge to have for sure, but i would concentrate on the accuracy of the EGT, and A/F, and fuel pressure gagues first. I have an electric fuel pressure gauge and i'm really happy with it, esp since i can have the gauge in the car.

I had a mechanical oil pressure gauge for awhile, but i was having a hard time getting a good tight fit, and it was leaking a little oil, not much, but no oil is good oil when its inside your car, hehe. I got an electric unit to eliminate the hastle of checking it all the time, its probably not quite as quick of a response, but good enough IMO.
