#38033, "Question about ordering S-FMU"

Hey guys, I'm probably the most paranoid person in the world when it comes to his car, so I decided to get the S-FMU. Anyway, I was on www.vortechsuperchargers.com to order it and when I found the link to buy the S-FMU it also gives the you option to buy the adapter assembly for $10.40. Do I need to buy this also? What does it do? I'm already shelling out $290 for this stupid unit and was just wondering if I needed to make it an even $300. Thanks guys.

Oh yeah, and how long did it take for your S-FMU's to arrive?

I would say yes, you'll need the adapter kit. Just the S-FMU itself comes with -6AN fittings, so unless you already have -6AN fuel lines, you'll probably need the adapter kit.

I bought mine from summit, and didnt get crap from them besides the SFMU, extra spring and 2 extra discs. Took me forever to find -6 fittings local. I say spend the extra $$$ and get what you need.

Also, this might be a stupid question, but does Vortech make a S-FMU for supercharged engines and another for turbocharged engines or is it the same part for both?

Since the S-FMU is fully adjustable, the same one is used for both turbocharged and supercharged applications.

Summit has -6an fittings, but it would probably be cheaper just to get the adapter kit. I personally did not when I ordered mine, so we will see how it goes.

What does the adaptor kit come with? What size does it adapt to? I tried finding the sizes but it said nothing about it.
