Umm... this is gonna get ugly.....

The short answer is yes, it's possible.
But why bother? Once you are done paying for all the custom shiot that you would have to pay for, you could have taken that 5-6G's it cost you and have a fully built 420A that would put all stock 4g63's to shame.

It's easy man, all you need is a couple of Phillips screwdrivers, 1\2 in. socket, and a pair if pliers.

We RRRRREEEEAAAALLLLYY need to get the 'Things We've Seen Before' forum up and running.

Oh yeah, to answer your question, no one in THIS board has done it. At least not that I know. There's a local guy here in Tampa that has done it on his 95 RS, NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS, and he spent close to 4-5 grand!!!

The things we've seen before forum IS up and running.

You have to change the date limit your user menu to "All available topics"... The default setting is not long enough to show the old posts of things we've seen before.

And the answer is yes you can swap, but it'll probably cost you more time and money then just getting a turbo and rebuilding your engine. Alot of things have to be replaced.

Okay.....

Yes it can be done....

No, it's not worth it...

You'll spend twice as much money as a turbo kit and get the same performance...

And no, you car will never run right...

You need, new engine, new transmission, new ecu, all new sensors, all new wiring harness, new this new that bla bla bla bla bla

Don't waste your time and tell the guys who told you it will just drop in that they are idiots.

Just incase if you ARE definite in swapping.. go with the first gen 91-94 motor, because that can't get crankwalk like the 95-99 can.

But yeah, you can use a 4G63, but there are more things that have the same potential, that you can easily find in a junkard, ie RX7 rotary motors, old Supra motors, or even 3000GT ones, if you can find them..

But yeah, it would be very expensive, and will cost you alot of money. But if you can see it this way, "Hondas do it all the time, and its not always bolt-on, why can't we do it?"...

If you can find a GST front clip in good condition with all the sensors and engine and axles and tranny and mounts and ECU and wiring harness then swap ALL that stuff from the front clip to your car and you;ll have a swap making about 170 HP at 15 or so psi, or spend $3000 on a HRC or Star kit and run 8 psi and have more HP to the wheels and faster spool up and once you build the engine for high boost you'll be running close to 300 HP and smoking GST's and GSX's and v8's ALL THE TIME.

It can definitely be done, but at what COST? Here's a wild engine swap in an SI:

http://dreamcarslimited.home.attbi.com/projectsi/prosi.html

It's a 2.4L stroked 4G63 in a Honda! I think that is pretty sweet.:o

Here do this:

Fly to Australia.
Here they sell the Mistubishi Lancer Evolution VII Extreme.
Its 350hp stock. Also 0 - 60 in 4 sec.
Make sure you get the RallyArt version 4G63t engine with Sport ECU and all wiring.
Find a used AWD drive shaft and do a rear conversion to make your new tranny fit.
Get custom mounting and harnesses.
Upgrade the internals, upgrade your clutch, and exaust.
Get bigger axles
Get a 25g turbo upgrade.
also a 50 shot of nitrous.
and Huge front mount intercooler.
Dont forget your standard boost control, turbo timer etc.

With all this, you should be roughly at 600hp for only spending $15,000. Yay!

Or you could keep your 420a and get a star or HRC kit for thousands less and do the same thing...

i think ill shoot myself if i hear the 4g63 swap question again. yes the 420a and 4g63 are both great engines and both can be monsters with both turbo and engine rebuilding. bottom line if you have an rs/gs, then buy a turbo kit for it. from what i hear you wont regret it. good luck and keep on tuning

Swapping in the mighty 4G63T motor into the 2GNT is really not
a cost-effective project. I know everyone has told you:
"no, it can't be done!", but they are correct in
that it will take a lot of $$ and blood. I have done extensive
research in this "projected" swap years ago and have
also gone to the darkside proclaiming that it is not worth it.
The first thing to remember is that the 4G63 is a Mitsu motor
while the 420A is a Chrysler motor. For a quick summary, you
have to get and swap in:
1)ECU
2)harness
3)complete 4G63T motor
4)tranny
5)fuel system
6)suspension (4G63T is a lot heavier) components
7)CROSS MEMBER under the tranny (since the4G63 will hit our
stock front cross member)

This is just a piece of the major parts that is needed. You
WILL spend at least ~3K on parts alone without labor and man
hours. If you have the time and patience, go for it man. I
only know of one person who supposedly did go through with the
swap and that was Steve Lawrence from the defunct and
dishonest Mutiny Racewerx.

Also, that link with the 4G63T in the Civic is not real. Look
closely and you will see that the motor is not hooked up. The
cables and sensors are just dangling there. The poseurs were
just lifting the motor with a stand inside the engine bay.
