ok iam rebuilding real soon and i think i have my fuel set up figured out .just tell me what you guys think i want to run like 22psi on a dyno race gas,15psi daily and like 18-20psi on the track with race gas,i no i have to retard the timming, saying that i have the timming retarted and engine built whould this fuel set up be good for that psi?
440cc injectors s-afc 3:1 disk in the star fpr (or a vortec)
thats about it ,please tell me what you think and what i should change or fix. thankx a lot guys and o yea i have star stage 2 but this will be for my stage 3.soon to come

I think that at between 7-13 psi you are gonna have problems with detonation from that safc advancing too much timing. You might have better luck if you can get an even lower rise rate regulator, but if I were you, I would look into something other than the safc to tune for that much boost.

somthing other than the safc ?like the e manage ,i dont have thatt kind of money but do you think its not a good idea to run that much boost with a safc or what?

Don't forget about a fuel pump... not sure if you have one or not but you'll need that. I would look into the Vortech S-FMU as an alternate to the FMU, you can tune it more.

If you get the S-FMU and run a lower idle fuel pressure with a higher rise rate disk, you could still use the AFC with your 440 injectors. The trick is to not lean the car a lot with the AFC because it will end up advancing the timing and causing detonation. Most of the time this happens at low boost, because people lean the AFC out the most on their LOW throttle settings. So instead of leaning your fuel mixture with the AFC, get the S-FMU and lower you fuel pressure instead. Just use the AFC for "fine" tweaking.....

yeah, NOT using the SAFC very much is the key to not detonating. get a SFMU with 440's. i am going to be getting the programmable MSD DIS-2 ignition soon, you can tune it with a laptop to retard timing based on the amount of boost you specify. it retards per psi of boost. pretty slick, and a good way to eliminate both closed and open loop detonation. www.TeamKLR.com 1997 Silver RS 12.3@118mph,20psi, race gas(drag radials) Wiseco 10.5 Pistons Eagle Rods T3/T4 Turbo Custom FMIC Greddy Exhaust 440's
