I have a dumb question about adjusting the psi of my turbo. I'm currently peaking 8psi, and want to adjust it down to 5 or 6 until I build up my bottom end(planning on getting a manual boost controller). I barely ever hit 8 psi unless I'm in 4th or 5th gear. I usually just like to boost through 1st and some of 2nd which I only get up to about 2 psi in 1st and 4 in 2nd. If I lower to 6 psi will this effect how fast my turbo spools up. Or will I still be getting the same 2-4 psi through 1st & 2nd?

Well there is no way to lower the lowest boost setting unless you change the wastegate. So you could do what ^^^^ he said and buy a new wastegate. If you only boost to those psi levels though it's because you are not giving it enough throttle. Floor it in first and again in second, I but you will hit 8psi. The spool will not be affected, you will just achieve full boost faster, but not by much at all. I wouldn't worry about 8psi on the stock internals, that's how Hahn designed it to run. Your motor should last a long time at that level.

so if the wastegate is for 8psi, that's as low as you can go even with a boost controller. You can just adjust from 8psi & up? If so I'll just keep what I have and wait to get a boost controller when I build up my internals.
