I know Howell sells them, but where else could I find them at? Also, does anyone know who makes it (company or brand)? There's a Jegs Performance shop that's local, and I'm wondering if they would have one. I'm just not sure what brand or part number to tell them. You guys that have them in your cars, do you know who makes the 160 degree thermostats that fits our cars? Thanks!

I've been to a few shops locally and no one lists any 160 degree thermostats for any Neon or n/a Eclipse. I guess I'll have to order one from Howell Automotive. I just hate waiting for it since I have some time to work on it this weekend. Oh well.

Just a few things I think you should know before you install or purchase the 160 degree thermostat. Don't be expecting to run 160 degree water temps with the only change being the thermostat. I did this as a test on our radiator and found my water temps to still would be be hovering around 200-210 degree's with the overheating fan still kicking on and off once in a while like stock. (this was in 70 degree weather) In other words it's really not worth running the 160 because our Radiators Suck. It's pretty much heat soaking the radiator more than with the 195 stocker and choking the system, and trying to keep up with cooling the water. The 195 stocker at least gives the water some time in the radiator to cool off. Where's the 160 just flows non-stop when anything over 160 degree's, which is bad Unless you have some way of kicking on your overheating fan at 170 or running a Huge Fluidyn radiator I'd recommend not wasting the money.

Thanks, Greg! That is the kind of comment I want to read. It will save me a lot of headache I'll pass on the 160 degree thermostat for now--at least until I can get a Fluidyne or something

That is normal for the temp to be that high. It does not open up until 160. The temps you are seeing Greg are normal. The thermostat is working fine. Temps would be much higher with the stock thermostat.
