What does this mean? Im looking for a used turbo and a lot of them I see have "very little shaft wobble" or "minor shaft wobble"

Obviously this is not great, but is that something to stay away from totally? Is it easily/cheaply fixed?

as turbos get used, the shaft isnt tight and the blade wobbles, more and more as it gets older till it eventuall goes, then you get it rebuilt and its all better, it just means the turbos been used a litle, but has very little play (good) more play, less eficient or something around there.....rebuilding turbos are pretty cheap too

around $200 or so, depends on what turbo you are having rebuilt and where....

All turbo shafts have a little bit of wobble in them, excessive wobble is what you want to watch out for.

For rebuilds:
www.turbocity.com you can call them, they are usually willing to work out a better deal if you talk to them, last year there rebuild kits were cheap. And, if you have a problem when you get your turbo apart you can call them up and they will talk you thru it.

However, them guys are kinda jerky, cause they think they know way too much about turbo's to waste there time talking to some lil' street racer... Just the impression I got when I went over there. But, in there defense, I must say, they gave me new wastegate gaskets, a new turbo gasket (way nicer one than came with the star kit), and some stuff to use for my exhaust leak from my downpipe for FREE... So they are kinda cool I guess, just don't plan on calling them for help.
