#37325, "Turbosmart BOV"

It's been a while since I've been around these parts, but I found something that may interest someone: Turbosmart blow off valves. As you can see in my sig, I have a turbo saab now, w/ the cold weather, I usually push around 12 psi of boost. I just got the Turbosmart type 2 bov. TInitially, I had a problem. The spring was really stiff, so I removed one turn of it and reinstalled the cap and get no compressor surge now. It responds really quickly. I had a Greddy type-s in my eclipse and it is basically a joke compared to this. No diaphrams to crack or anything like that. Inside there is one solid brass piston and a spring, that's it. I got it for $165 from a place in australia. If anyone is interested, I can give the link. I remember a while ago that some people were getting tired of their loud exhausts and going for a stealthier demeanor, this fits right in there. It can definitely be heard, but it sounds more like a semi truck than a high pitched greddy. I'm not talking shit on the greddy, it's just the only other one I have ever had. And for the record, I wouldnt have wanted any other for the eclipse. The greddy was exactly what i rhought it would be. This Turbosmart one is real sedated. This one would definitely be good for the 400 horse car, that's for sure. My saab has more sound deadening inside the cabin and under the hood than any car you have probably ever seen in your life, so this bov would probably be louder in an eclipse. There is also another australian company called go fast bits that make really good bovs for cheap money. justin
