I had to post thsi here cause your email didnt work for me....
<<<i'll first go over whats up...yesterday it started to not want to go into gear, sometimes its cake, other times it sucks...<<<
That could either be your slave leaking fluid and its like your pedal isnt in, doubt it.... or your starting to get some tranny issues....
<<<so i look under the car and see tranny fluid coming from the drive shafts, where it goes into the tranny...looks like my seals are bad..<<<
yeah, looks like it.... they are easy to get messed up, expecially seeing what happened w/ the jackstand. They are easy to change w/ the tranny out, or a little bit of a pain in the ass with the tranny in... I used a big rubber mallott to smack them in and it was too tight a fit so i didnt have much of a swing... and it would pop out for awhile till you get lucky and it goes in 1/2 way... be real careful though or you will bend the thing and need to go get another one.... just get them from napa, federal mogal or whoever makes them, take one w/ you... cause i got the wrong ones from the dealer twice, then took one to napa and got the right one... might use a micrometer to measure it too although they should have the part # in the cpu.
<<<a small piece of plastic, maybe 1 inch lon! g came unconnected from the hose we were using and he , by trying to get it out, pushed it in....now i have a piece of plastic tubing in there..<<<
It will melt for sure.. doubt it would cause harm, but i am sure no good will come of it either, hehe... when you drained the tranny, what color was the oil, that will tell you a lot... did it look like new tranny fluid, or was it black like used motor oil? cause bad tranny fluid = bad tranny usually...
<<<well then we couldn't get the drain plug back in quick enough and some of the fluid came back out...<<<
well then, you did it the hardest way possible, hehe... next time try the drain plug ONLY to drain the tranny fluid There is a filler screw on the side, and when its full it will drain fluid back out, so you know its full, or you can measure the fluid your putting in and fill it through the reverse switch thats on top by the battery. Just remove it, stick a hose in there and squeeze that foul smellin' shit in there...
<<<and we're going to replace the fluid w/ some new stuff...do you think this may cure my symptoms? what did it end up being in your case??? i would really appreciate your help in this, Kon says you know your stuff..<<<
nah, i doubt fluid, nasty or not, would cause that, unless it was a severe lack of fluid, and then you would be burning up roller and needle bearings and shit...
Worst case, find a neon tranny at a junkyard... they're cheaper.. i got one for 100 bucks with a busted bellhousing... which i didnt need anyways cause we gotta use ours to mate up to our engine... if you get the SOHC, you get longer gears, DOHC you get same gears... i think, its been awhile. my tranny was fuct... welded the gears to the shaft, it was really hard to shift... there towards the end, but it al;l came on at once... i could hear a rattling in i put my head under the car w/ it in neutral, then the car would actually pull forward an inch or 2 every few seconds in neutral(meaning it was enguaging a gear on its own(being welded to the shaft)
<<<i need to keep the cost to a minimum right now b/c i'm kinda cashed after doing a full rebuild, 8 inj setup and a Star Stage 2 kit w/ a new clutch...between all the bearings, gaskets, fluids and other little stuff i would say i just put 8 g's into it..i'm a stage 4 currently and my car is pulling really hard at 11 psi(data logged it today and was only seeing 16 deg of advance at wot, egts do get a little high, only problem though..everything else is greatthanks for your time and guidance...<<<<<<
sounds like you got more power under the hood and the tranny is saying "what the hell are you doing to me buddy?" thats what mine was saying cause mine blew 700 miles after i installed a cm stg 4 and quaife lsd, before that i had no problems.... also, i think the previous owner used the wrong fluid when he owned the car, and when i switched it back over to the correct stuff, it freaked out..
