Which one do you use and how long do you set the countdown for?

i use the hks type-1. it's really nice and i am very happy with it. it has a built in tachometer with an adjustable shiftlight, speedometer, voltage, also it has a stopwatch that has the ability to measure your quarter mile sprints. i rarely ever fiddle with it i leave it in automatic mode, so that it uses tach and speedo readings to estimate the cool down time. on average i think i've seen a minute thirty most of the time, but on the highway, DAMN! i can run that shit up to 8 minutes of cool down time.

oh yeah it's has a beautiful blue back light that flashes red when the shift light comes on or when it is counting down.

i have greddy unit mounted by my shifter, on the flatish part next to the 12 volt plug. for going around town and not really boosting at all, i set it to 2 minutes. for highway/hard driving, i set it to 3 minutes.

i've found the auto mode pretty useless. it's sort of accurate unless you go on the highway. 8 minutes is overkill for turbo timing. i've seen mine at 9 minutes and 59 seconds under auto mode, because it sees the RPM's higher than 3000 for like an hour so it flips out. pretty useless if you ask me...

you see, that's the thing. the way the hks uses the speedo and tach signal is that it will raise the time only if the both are rising. so if i'm at 4800 rpms and a solid 80mph it's not going to increase the time on the timer (at least that's the way i remember it behaving on that highway run).also on that highway run i was beating the shit out of the car, so it probably needed second of that cool down time.

Well regardless of what it says on the highway it will prolly get lower by the time you park. I don't know about you guy's but I never pull right off the highway and park right then. I have the Apexi TT with volt meter, A/F and O2 sensor voltage. I love it. I leave it in auto mode and by the time I ever park my car it's pretty much idled down, so mine usually is 1 min to 2 min. Mine has a range that you can adjust EX: low setting 1 minute high setting 5 min. And lets me select at what rate it will calculate the time between those two times.

i have the blitz one.

the auto mode has several different settings, and all seem to have their place. all tho, most of the time, i just use the mode that bases itself on car time. other modes include calculating time based on how long you are a bove a certain rpm and such

if im really hard on the car tho, ill go ahead ond use the manual mode and let it go 2:30-3 minutes

i too have the Blitz FATT (Full Auto Turbo Timer).. when i'm just driving it for a few minutes and not really boosting (which is hardly ever) i usually set it to like 30-40 seconds.. when i boost hard or drive up to 1 hour..i set it for like 2 - 3 minutes..but when i drive to college which is like 6 or 7 hours..i set it like 10 minutes to make sure everything cools down and stuff.
