Hey guys, I got my stage 1 in and it's running great. I've run into a couple problems though. My friends and I have been tuning the crap out of it seeing what does and doesn't work. We adjusted the fuel pressure to what they recommend and my car, at low speeds, started to die for a split second which I'm guessing is a misfire. The CEL came on and I pulled over. So I guess not enough fuel is getting to the engine. We cranked up the fuel and it ran fine. Another weird thing was that when I pulled over I turned on my hazards and my aux. pump started sputtering to the beat of the hazards and the needle in my fuel pressure guage was stuttering. When I turned them off it went back to normal. Can anyone help me out with these problems?

Yeah your fuel pump is connected to the hazzard lights do the fuel pump rewire mod and give it it's own line and fuse. What was the CEL code?

I don't know what the code was. However, I'm pretty sure it was a misfire. It felt like one. I can just turn up the fuel to stop them right? And I can just disconnect the battery to get rid of the CEL right?

Yes stock injectors and we set the fuel to about 47 at idle.

How are your MAP sensor connections after the FCD install?

Many times, a messy job with the FCD install, can lead to CEL's or a stalling car. Just give it a look over. Also, check your CEL, that should really give you the answer. If it's MAP sensor related, you've found the problem.

Ive noticed that after i shut off the car the fuel pressure is dropping almost back to 0 after a couple of minutes. I know on a stock fuel system that the idle fuel pressure is supposed to only drop at most 5 psi within a minute after the car has been shut off. On mine the pressure drops pretty rapidly after the engine is shut off. Have any of you guys had this problem or is this even a problem. I guess one of the causes is a bad check valve in the fuel pump but i dont know if the new new regulator could be causing this. Also there are no visibal leaks.

Yeah I used a relay. I'm going to check over the connections tomorrow with my friend/main mechanic. We took it for a spin tonight and gave it some boost and after just driving for a while my CEL disappeared and the car ran perfectly which makes me believe it didn't have as much fuel pressure earlier. We're going to take it to Autozone in the morning to have it diagnosed so I'll have more info to provide then.

I will say however that I love boost. I'm only at stage 1 and the car pulls like a bat out of hell. I can't imagine what stage 2 is like with higher boost because my car feels almost as fast as my friend's modified GTP. I've fallen in love with my car all over again!

Alright, the verdict from Autozone came in and Jason was right. It was my MAP sensor so we'll have to go over all the connections and vacuum lines to see what went wrong. Other than that I've had a blast boosting.
