#36816, "I hate Hahn!"

After months of waiting for my friends to come home for Christmas vacation to install my stage 1, I get screwed. First they didn't include figure F for the fuel mapping so I had to look it up online, then they didn't give us a bracket for the FPR that fit my car, then when we thought everything is going sooo smoothly with the fuel system, all of the sudden we realize that the elbow fitting they gave us was too big and it was the same as the oil fitting. They gave me the wrong part! Now I have to wait til Monday for them to open so I can b*tch at them to send me the right part and I highly doubt it will get here before the guys go back to school. I'll probably have to do it myself but I really don't trust myself with stuff like this. Stupid Hahn.

What are the chances of me getting the part for free?

Yeah, it happens all the time... ALL THE TIME. emoji

You'll get your parts, no questions asked. Their service is good. Be very very clear what you need though.

Dude! Hahn employs people - they're not perfect. They make mistakes, but they will take care of you, believe me. Their csr is Brad and he most probably will next day air your missing items. You want them on your side, especially since you have made a considerable investment WITH them. They have been a tremendous help to me over the past 3 months. Keep the faith, man. You will soon appreciate all the research that Hahn has done-and be rewarded with a fast turbo car.

not to be a ass.. but hahn is alot more better all around then most companies i deal with. service is great. just might have been a opppss on there end, but they will give you the correct parts, and they should pay for shipping. you just have to send back the old parts which they will repay you for shipping at a later time. i dont think they will give it free to you unless they are in a good mood. not everything is perfect man, those are small things which they had a opppsss on.. its not like they send you a 4g63 turbo or some odd things you know what i mean?... be nice to them and they will help you out...
good luck man

Hope they will pay for shipping on yours. I had to pay both the return of the wrong parts, and then they sent me the right ones COD. Guessing maybe mine was because I ordered mine through Howell and those hick hillbillys couldn;t get it right 2 times before I called Hahn directly. So all in all I spent an extra 100 bucks in shipping charges sending things back and forth before I finally got the right parts. I will agree that Hahn's service has been excellent and has been able to answer all of my questions. I guess the only people I'm bitter at is Howell and that is why the will NEVER get any business from me, nor will I refer anyone to them ever again.

Exactly, HRC is bad ass when it comes to their service. Sometime small things fall through the cracks and you have to make a call. It's not the end of the world. Just Be VERY nice and tell Brad your situation and it should all work out for you.

I know not getting the right part(s) is really frustrating, especially when you've got everything else planned out, but in terms of service, HRC has always stood up to their reputation for being very fair and firm about their service and warranties on parts. Just let them know. I too needed a new turbo oil inlet fitting when I bought my turbo kit, and they over-nighted it to the shop that did my install.

My only real gripe about the Hahn kits is the manual. I really think they need to add a "Installation Tools Needed" section to the beginning. It took me A LOT longer to install my kit than it should have because I had to make MANY runs to Home Depot for tools.

For instance, when installing the lower IC pipe, it says "using a 3" hole saw, drill a hole under the fuse box." I don't know about you, but most people I know don't have a 3" hole saw sitting in their garage! There were a few more times just like that, but that's the only one I remember off the top of my head.

I just look at it like this...

I bought my DFI from them $1000+ w/ all the extras and it literally blew up on me after the install (Most likely my falt emoji ). I called them and they replaced it for free, no questions asked. Any other after-market parts company would have said TS and told me to buy a new one.

If they fixed my DFI problem then they probably wont give you much grief for a 2.00 part.

But it's also recommended that your average home car-hobbyist should NOT undertake this installation.

I've met him in person. he's a lot of fun, and a real nice guy to boot.

I'm sure if, once you'vecalmed down, you give them a call, they'll get you squared away with a quickness. Their customer support is second to none.

Since you have been WAITING for so long for your buddy to come down and install it for you, WHY didn't you take the 1 hour to MAKE SURE that you received EVERY SINGLE part with the kit? This would have saved you some problems because you would have already had them sent to you. That's your own fault for not planning ahead.

As far as HRC and Howell, RobotechDSM ordered his Stage 1 HRC kit through Howell and did the same thing you did. He didn't open all the boxes until I got there to install the kit so we had to make sure every part was there and they ALL were.

I did check everything out. The oil fitting and the fuel fitting are both elbows and look almost identical. I saw two elbows so I didn't think much of it. You're right, it is partially my fault but I wasn't going to put the whole fuel system together outside of the car to make sure everything fit right.

For future reference of anyone that is going to be installing themselves, this was how we checked for everything before the install.
We made a label for each parts section that was listed in HRC's manual and then made sure we had EVERY part before even getting started. I would suggest that ANYONE that buys a turbo kit, even if you are paying a shop to do the install do this.

96 - 99 Fuel System

Air Piping

General Parts

Fuel System

Oil System

Turbo Fasteners

Hose Kit

This is pathetic. What is so fucking hard about a guy sitting there with a check list and checking shit off as it goes into the box. Everyone that does packing and shipping should know exactly what to pack and ship by now. Getting the wrong part is bullshit. They actually forgot to send me an intercooler. WTF, how do you forget something so god damn big?? When I called them about it, they said I never told them I wanted stageII but it's funny how I got charged for a stageII.
