Well son of a bitch I changed the water pump when I changed my HG. My car has been overheating ever since the HG repair. Well I looked at the water pump real good today and it's leaking through the weep hole. I know that means it is about to die right? How long will it last? I'm getting ready to swap in a 2.2L in the next few months. I don't want to pull the timing belt again before I do the swap. I know the pump is still working because it still circulates the coolant. Why didn't I look at this sooner? I bought a brand new part from advance so I didn't think it would be bad. And here I was blaming the RAD. Need some advice gyu's what should I do, wait for the swap or do it now? Keep in mind my engine has to stay in working order.

I'd never heard of that, but I asked the guys at work about that problem. Evidently, coolant coming out of the weep hole is a sign of death for a coolant pump. It should be warrantied from Advance. They often sell some shitty parts. I've gotten alot of bad axles from them (lifetime warranty). I switched to another axle brand (warranteed too) and haven't had any issues. BTW, I have an Advance coolant pump too and it works fine. I'd just trade the broken one in and get another. You still seriously thinking 2.2l? I'm so torn on what to do, I'm considering putting the options on a dartboard.
