#36239, "Help with ecu code."

Okay tonight I was driving home the car stumbled (felt like it stopped flowing fuel, then kicked back on) several times. The forth stumble brought the check engine light on. I did the key dance and this is what I got:

1 2 4 3 4 3 5 5

I know the 55 is 'end of codes' but i'm lost on the rest. Can someone help me out. It felt as if the car died while I was driving then all of a sudden it worked again. Don't know what the deal is. I changed the crank sensor yesterday thinking it was the problem. Still no go. I have a 95 Eclipse (yep, the famous 95s!!) Star turbo kit along with a few other goodies. The car was working fine and at the beginning of this week it started doing this. Help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

The only code that you have to worry about there is 43. Code 43 is a misfire code on one or multiple cylinders. It indicates a bad coil or possibly craped out spark plugs or spark plug wires. Code 12 just says that the PCM power supply (battery) has been disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles. To see the codes yourself, go to the main site. Specifically, http://www.2gnt.com/nuke/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=8

Thanks for the Rapid response. I checked the wires and they seem to be good, so I'll go with the plugs and check the coil tomorrow. Again, thanks for the help.

what is the key dance he is talking about. any info would be greatly appreciated. i have a code that keeps coming back on my o2 sensor for lack of catalyst because i have a high flow cat and i just want to make sure that is the only code in there. also how would i correct the o2 sensor problem without removing the cat? tia

the keydance is garbage, well its only good if for general info , go to autozone and have them scan it (its free) that will give you the P0xxx code which will tell you exactly which cylinder misfired/etc.. its a much better diagnostic test than the keydance

But many times you can just reset the ECU (disconnect the battery) and the code will never come back again, moisture in plug wires/bumps in hte road etc.. can fake a cylinder misfire

8 times out of 10 if its a cylinder misfire thats coming up if you reset it you wont see the code again

Auto Zone isn't allowed to Scan for free right now. There case is still in lidigation (spelling?). They have to obtain some sort of permit in order to test cars like that. However, they can't get the permit till thier case is finished and they pay a fine or something.

I just went last friday, the guy even let me go out and do it myself. After me having the tool for about a half hour, "I was playing" the guy came out and took my fun away. The scan tool they had was yellow and had all kinds of good tests on it...I liked it alot.
