The problem is because at idle what happens is the BOV is opening and bypassing the mass airflow sensor. One solution, would be to route the bov "discharge pipe" back to where the intake is Ala using a 1st gen Turbo "Intake tube" from the Maf to the turbocharger.

yeah... you need to get a HK$ VPC. here's a link for one, although Mach V is usually the most expensive place to get stuff at. anyways, good luck. http://www.machv.com/hksveinpresc.html

Just route the discharge back into the intake. It will still "blow off", just not as loud. Wouldn't you rather have a perfectly running car than one that dies all the time just for a cool noise?

The SAFC can not correctly adjust for this problem. It has been tried forever. You have to either get the HKS VPC ($900), the AEM EMS ($1200), or some other stand alone engine management system that does not use the MAS. It is cheaper and easier to just route the BOV back into the intake tube. It actually is not a Blow-Off Valve, it is an Air Bypass Valve. It is designed from the factory to go back into the intake system.

when i had my gst it would idle weird if i did not route it back in. i just routed it back in so my car idled better then it did. i had the greddy type s, and the blitz (old school) kind before. both worked nice except the blitz keep on blowing off for no reason. well listen to jeff, dump it back in and it should fix your problem. you can still hear the bov, but it wont be as loud.
good luck
