#35545, "ATTN: who wants to make $50....kinda long"

i'm a thinking about what to do with my install with the hrc stage 1.
i really don't want to fuck up so if anyone with a 96-99 eclipse doing a hrc install can videotape the process, i will pay $50. YES I KNOW THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE HRC KIT ARE DETAILED, but i want too be absolutely possitively 110% sure that i am doing EVERYTHING RIGHT. so if anyone, especially one of the mods is interested, hit me up.

IAM RIGHT NOW JUST FLOATING THE IDEA-but is anyone interested.

anyone doing the install soon. i want details people, every boring redundent detail.

Even without the money, this is definitely one of the best ideas I've heard. Someone who's going to install an HRC, Star or custom turbo kit should do this--especially if you have a digital camcorder. Just like jezreel mentioned, just try to log every step, along with the video. Heck, you guys could start selling these install videos that people can use to supplement their turbo kit install instructions. If anyone's like me, I can follow better when I can see someone else do it.

I don't know, sounds like it you will see and hear of ton of why the hell would HRC do it this way, and why won't this damn thing fit. Possible some god damn this car to hell. More than likely a bunch of screw this shit, i'm taking a break. If someone does it, it should be someone who's already done a kit install so it won't be like the above as much. If a first time installer, it will be like the above statements the whole install. =] Trust me, I know...

When I install I'd need about 20 hours at least of tape. I'll video it though come March/April.

It would be funny to see the beer bottles piling up in the background too and the installers speech gradually slurring more and more, hehe. Hell even someone taking detailed pics of what they did and where they mounted and t'ed into shit would help out. Someone may have done that tho and i just dont know about it. But yeah ill tape mine if nobody has by the time my install rolls around.

i too have a 56k and have to have this video taped. but i don't care about three hours of cussing-just as long as the tape is a good install tape. yeah, it would be great if someone who has done the install previously could do this though. btw, i don't want to make money on this-i just don't want to make a mistake. I do however want to do the install myself to learn more about the car. my dad actually is offering to pay for the install ($500) but i know i dont want to rely on mechanics BECAUSE i'm in cali and i have to disassemble for the future smog checks. (sweet thing is he is giving me 200 if i do the install-that's my alarm money) afterwards, though i will donate the tape to 2gnt-maybe they could post it like you say on their survers(just as long as it is for free for future installers).

yea, their right. im learning all the copyright laws in school right now and if you were to make the vid, you would have to get written permission from star and hahn to do the vid. you cant include someone product without their consent, especially if alot of people are gonna see it. it dosent matter if your making money or not its copyright infringment. all you have to ask tho is if you can make a vid. if you do sell these he may or may not want part of the $$ because it is his product. that would be a great thing to make tho. id buy one for the someday i get a turbo.

yah for real. who cares? if its between evulflea and jsupetran (for example) and them two only, then who cares? They both have kits and they arent spamming across the net. He's just asking for some help. I think though what would be best, is maybe find someone in your area that has done it that can help you. Not do it for you, just supervise and give advice here and there to save you some time.

it dosent matter wheather they are spamming it across the net or not. plus they were discussing selling these or passing them around. even if its for 1 person its still infringment. im not gonna sit here and argue. the law states that its copyright infringment. if you make the video w/o his written permission, technically he has the right to sue you for infringment. and trust me, lawsuits can award large sums of money in his favor. i have one class dedicated to this, so i believe i know what im talking about. it depends on how the person is, but they can ruin your life with a lawsuit. again, this is all in the "technical" aspect..hey may not care if he found out, but id rather play it safe and get permission.

the thing is how is an instruction video going to hurt their business? all someone is doing is helping another person out to install "their" product. come to think of it it really helps them better for business because it will help an unexperienced mechanical person to understand better instead of having to call customer service on the phone and you're like still clueless with out like someone physically showing you or; if the phone is busy or; they have no clue what you're talking about. another thing it would save a customer atleast a thousand more dollars than having a mechanic do it. and if anything goes wrong you could always rewind the tape to troubleshoot. BUT...i think if hahn is concerned about his business and would like to up his sales more, he should include a video of his own and add it to the kit. hellz i wish had something like that,i had to go through hell when i had the star kit with them lame ass instructions but atleast i knew what i was doing and having help with the guys here in the forum.

well it takes away from their sales becuase when people see wht they need to do to install, they also see what pieces they need to instal. So i feel that they believe that when people see iinstructions/video or whatever that they loose customers becuase they might now go and do a custom kit.

Thats why hahn won't give out a parts list for thier kits.
