So i plan on getting the Stage 2 kit from Hahn and I was wondering what precautions should be done. Should I get new pisons/rods or does the kit do fine without them already. Or should I get the stage 2 and upgrade to stage 3 later on(Stage 3 comes with pistons and rods doesnt it?)

if u got the money get new rods and pistons eagles and weiscos would do fine 425+350
50$ in bearings 35$ in gaskets might as well do the timing belt and throw in anew oil pump so theres another 160$
You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.
If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good. If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast. If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

I bought the kit and did the install myself - alot of time and patience but well worth it. Two months later and I am replacing pistons, rings ,etc. - broken land on #4 piston. I did not do the all important leakdown test prior to the install and yes I regret it $5000 later. But now I am confident the engine will stay together. Also I cant say enough about the staff at hrc - always there with a helpful idea or a solution.
