Just wanted to see how well the stage 2 kit really works and how reliable it is before i order it for my 99 GS. I've noticed a lot of them on the net for sale. Even some as low as $1500. Why does it seem a lot of people are getting rid of theirs. Is it just not producing the power they are after or because their motors are letting go? I would rather just save up and leave my car alone till the EVO VII comes out(if it really does). Then have a broke car setting in the driveway needing fixed.

First of all, I'm not turbo yet...but I've been researching it for several months. I'd have to say that if you're not ready to make some repairs, don't think about turbo. It is true that the Stage 1 and 2 kit's are quite reliable, however it seems to me that there is ALWAYS a chance of problems. Stage 2 kits are slightly more reliable than stage 1 kits because of the intercooler. The cooler intake charge lowers the chance of running into detonation, but that chance still exists. Also, you're going to be putting more pressure on several engine components; head gaskets, pistons, rings, rods, etc. More pressure = more chance of faliure. I'm by no means saying that going turbo is going to reslut in a dead engine everytime, but there is a chance.

As far as power goes, the Hahn Stage 2 system is going to almost double your power...there won't be many cars on the road that you can't beat. You'll be running with Supra's, RX-7s, 911s, etc.

Just do the reasearch and make sure it's what you want to do. Hope I helped emoji

Hey, thanks phrenzy. I'm not worried about making repairs. That's just a penalty of adding more horses to any motor. I'm just mainly trying to find out why i've seen quite a few on the net for almost half the price with less than 6 to 7 months of use. If these guys are blowing there motors by just bolting it on, then i need to decide between getting the motor built first or just going to a better platform for power. My brother has a 400hp 97 GSX that is daily driven and taken to the strip at least twice a month. The bottom end has not been touched and with almost 80k has never broke down. He keeps telling me to dump the GS and go with a 4G63.
