For those of you that have the Hahn Stage 2 kit I have some questions for you....
How long have you had your kit on?
Have you had any problems with your engine?
Do you have upgraded internals?
How much boost do u run normally?
What is the max you would turn it up to?
Did you change anything from what the kit came with? Example -I know some people change some fuel things, but it should be fine with what it comes with right?

Well...thats all the questions I can think of now, but if you have anything to add, please do.

Thank you, Brad

well, i started w/ stage 1, but quickly added my own FMIC.

been boosting on a stock engine for over a year now, still get perfect compression (200 on all 4 cylinders)--knock on wood. i boost 8-10psi daily.

i replaced the hahn fpr w/ vortech sfmu, and added 30lb injectors. also, i broke one of the electrical terminals off the inline pump when i was looking for a loose connection, and it leaked b/c of it, so i replaced it w/ just a walbro in-tank pump.

ive gone as high as 12psi w/ some homebrew race-gas (xylene-mix) (that doesnt count the accidental overboosts when messing with the mbc, cause ive seen as high as 15-20 psi before, but only for a split second). But from what ive read, the stock rods begin to bend around 14-15psi...and thats assuming you dont see detonation before that, b/c the stock cast pistons wont hold up well to detonation before ringlands start cracking.

get a new missing link or vc-2 etc to replace the hrc mapper if needed. get the super-fmu to replace the catech fpr. that should be cool for now.
oh yah you will need a a/f gauge, and egt..
boosted over 11,000 miles over 1 yr, for the last 4 months at 9psi.
im in the process of buying all my internals for rebuild.. i want to crank it up now...

I started out with a stage 2, and boosted 8 psi daily for about 3 months. I altered HRC's fuel system by not using their inline and went with a 190 LPH Buschur intank fuel pump. This setup ran okay, except I was probably running too lean because of the intank fuel pump.

Then I upgraded to 370cc injectors, a Supra TT intank fuel pump and controlled it with an S-AFC. The car ran well, so I bought a boost controller to run 10 psi daily. I ran 10 psi daily for about two weeks, then it happened--cracked ring lands in 3 cylinders.

Currently, I have built internals, have the stage 4 fuel system, and I'm running 15-16 psi daily. I occassionally run 20-21 on race gas. I've been boosting 15 psi and drive my car EVERY day for almost 11,000 miles now. So far so good (knock on wood).

I don't recommend running an intank pump alone, unless you also go with bigger injectors. I think that was what caused my engine failure at first. Try not to alter from HRC's setup, unless you have all the necessary supporting parts.

I have a Hahn Stage II Kit (if you call it that as I have replaced quite a few parts) for about a month now with about 400 miles on it. and have had no problems so far. I am running a conservative setup with only 6/7 psi daily.

My engine contains stock internals but I will be purchasing the forged internals in the near future (hope to have it rebuilt in about 6 months).

Here is a list of parts I have added to my kit:

Vortech SFMU (replaces the Cartech)
Missing Link Fuel Cut defender (replaces the HRC black box)
Magnacor 8.5 MM Wires
NGK 7e-11 Plugs
Walbro 255 lph HP Intank Pump
Autometer Lunar Series A/F, EGT, Boost Guages
Autometer Triple Full A-Frame Pillar Pod
Greddy Type S Blow Off Valve (purchased from HRC - kit upgrade)

P.S. I just replaced my stock intank pump this weekend with the Walbro and what a difference. If you haven't heard, the inline pump supplied with the kit is very loud. Some don't mind the noise but it got on my nerves in four weeks time. The walbro has made a huge difference in lowering the noise - Not completely quiet but way less noise.

About 6 months now...

Hehe..yeah...cracked both top #4 piston ring lands because of detonation at 10 psi boost. Motor ran too lean...
>Do you have upgraded internals?

Not yet..

>How much boost do u run normally?

Now i run around 7 to 8 psi

>What is the max you would turn it up to?

Well on a stock motor, with PERFECT tuning 10 psi max. Keep it around 8 psi and you will be fine assuming your fuel setup is tuned good.

I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator, the Fuel cut defensor with the Missing Link, the crappy BOV with a Turbo XS type S BOV, and I'm currently using a 1st gen side mount intercooler to save money, and run stage 2 boost levels for much cheaper (more custom work needs to be done though, and it wont look as pretty)

HRC stage 2 w/ FMIC since end of June 2002. At install I replaced the fuel pump with an Walbro 255 hi-press. I got now the Missing Link mod along with the FCD. I replaced the supplied boost gauge. I got all my pipes, turbine housing, HPC coated. Also replaced radiator fan cause pipe got in the way; so I got a Perma-cool slim fan. I've had no engine problems but many related to install, since I had an inexperience shop do it. emoji Stock internals, gone up to 9psi on 105 octane. Daily 6-8psi. I spared no expense to get it right and what I wanted, see my webpage to see my list of mods. But unfortunately I couldn't control all things with money....
