#34661, "HRC questions"

I think I'm about to pick up a used stage 2 HRC kit with the sidemount, and 16g turbo. The turbo is pretty much fried, needs to be rebuilt, but Hahn is doing it for free because of some warranty/bad parts issues. My questions are:

Is it possible to say screw the mitsu turbo and slap a T3/T4 on there? well i know its possible, but how well will it bolt up? What will it take?

Also, I've read that the fuel pump isnt all that great... are there any other things i should consider replacing?

Let me know what you guys think, TIA!

I believe the flange in the exhaust manifold for the S16G and the T3\T4 are completely different. Meaning you're gonna have to custom make some kind of manifold that'll accept the Garret flange. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

The fuel pump I'd recommend the Walbro 255hi pressure. Also many will tell you to get the Vortech SFMU and also the missing link instead of the black box FCD. That's all i can think of now, but it's a good start. emoji

Actually, from everything I've read and heard, the Super 16g turbos and the Garret T03/04's DO in fact have the same 4 bolt turbo flanges.

I've heard that the HRC Super16G is a direct bolt on to the 1G exhaust manifold. Whereas they have to get a custom manifold, flange and all, if they wanna bolt a T3/T4 in there.

im not sure about fitment of the t3/4 with the hrc manifold since the t3/4 is bigger then the super 16g.. i know the star uses have it, but im unsure about how the manfold holds the turbo etc get me?.. i would just keep the super 16g, you get more power around the street etc.. get boost quicker then the t3/4.. t3/4 is more for high end/ revving people.. super 16g is good for 400hp, are you going over that?
good luck

The Super series HRC (16g and 20g) turbos in fact use a Garrett 10cm housing/exhaust side, hence why you can bolt a Garret t3/4 on an HRC manifold.
