#34628, "People w/ 95 fuel rails (also EIC people)???"

You know how the return line is on the rail? Where does the hose that goes on there run to?

Also I saw somewhere on here that the stock FPR on the rail is a 1:1 riser. Is that true? What I'm looking to do is run a 95 rail as the primary rail and a 98 rail as the secondary rail. I was going to run the test ports together and use the stock reg for the rising rate. So I just need to know where the return line would go since I won't be using an aftermarket reg. And what is the static pressure of the 95's? Is it different than the 60psi of the 96+. Thanks to anyone that can answer any of this.

Well I know the static pressure is lower than 60 but I would have to check to give you the real #. Are you doing the 8 injector setup? As far as the regulator goes I doubt it is usable with the 8 injector setup or else corbin would not have bought the other one. I don't think it raises at all anyway. It stays at a constant fuel pressure of the static pressure and the fuel trims work the injectors duty cycle to raise and lower fuel needs. So I don't think it would rise with boost.
Oh and since you are a 98 I believe you would have to run a return line to your tank.

The stock 95 reg is not a 1:1 riser. Who ever told you that is mistaken. Static fuel pressure on my car per my Autometer gauge is 40ish psi.

Ok there goes that idea. BUT if I just use a 95 rail for my primary can I run the return line from the Aeromotive reg to the return port on the rail? I think that's why some turboed 96+ people switch rails but I want to be sure.

Yeah you can run the return port from the rail to the fpr but it still has to go back to the tank if I'm not mistaken. Is this for the 8 injector set up? I'm guessing not.

Yes this is for an 8 injector setup. If it still has to go back to the tank then what's the point of people switching to 95 rails? There has to be something better about them :/

The only benefit to the 95 rails is that they already have a stock return port on them. However, they also have the stock FPR as part of the rail, which in some cases may force you to disable it. In any case, I have a 98, am running 8 injector setup, and I have two 96+ fuel rails. The 96+ fuel rails have test ports on them that can be mated to -04 AN female fittings and used as fuel return lines (remember to remove the Schraeder valve).

The only excuse, or nominal gain, to using a 95 rail is the fittingless fuel rail. Otherwise, you can use an 2GNT fuel rail for your needs. In fact, I prefer have a high pressure compression fitting on my fuel rails. emoji I had a 95 fuel rail sitting around and I sold it for that very reason.

Because the 95 rails have an inlet, an outlet, and a service port. the 96+ rails only have an inlet and a service port. The reason 96+ guys switch to 95 rails is because the return ont he 95 runs all the way up to the front so there is a real return on the rail, not some dinky 4an service hole with a schrader valve emoji

Yes, that "real return on the rail" is huge. I think it may possibly be be a three inch diameter port that allows you use the stock spring clamp. I was too scared to use it on my setup since I knew my FPR couldn't support that sort of fuel flow. Instead, I knew the "dinky" was more appropriate for me! emoji emoji

(anyone have a picture of that return, I sold mine)

I've heard that is was a 1:1 as well. I think it was Greg (992gnt) that said it was a 1:1 raise rate. I know he is using it as part of his fuel set up. The HRC stage 4 and 5 fuel setups run a 1:1 fpr. So if he is running one it's got to be a 1:1, I also think he said his fuel pressures are the same as what I have w/ my Bosch 1:1.

So if it isn’t a 1:1 what is it?

I’m just curious, I was going to throw the 95 rail on and see if it would work but I sold it to guess who…

You guys all heard that from me. I have 95 fuel rail with the stock in-tank and HRC in-line pumps. Static fp is 45psi and rises 1:1 with boost. I have no other fpr's or fuel controlling devices on the car and have plenty of fuel pressure under boost.

Must be magic, because mine is bone stock, OEM 95 issue equipment, and it stops at 50psi/0inHG..

Don't know what to say, other than "Mine doesn't do that?"

Damn it if I didn't sell mine to Matt I could put it in and give it a try. Oh well I'm sure someone else will be able to verify their findings.

No matter what the stock FPR does, I wouldn't use it for the 8 injector setup. It is non adjustable and not built to handle high flows. Adjustability is key to the 8 injector setup. Setting your base fuel pressure at exactly what you need makes the whole system much easier to tune. I am running much lower base fuel pressure than I thought I would. I think running 96+ rails and separate FPR makes a very clean setup.

So you aren't running 60psi static like stock? I figured that you would since idling just uses the stock injectors.

I'm actually running 24 psi under vacuum (probably 30-32 static) on 252 cc/min injectors. This gives about 5% less fuel than I need right at 0 psi boost. That makes the transition from 4 to 8 injector mode smooth.

How big are your injectors Greg? Only reason I ask is because mabye that is why you have enough fuel without going over stock settings.
