#34571, "CEL & 1/2 quart of oil on my valve cover."
Well on saturday morning i started my car, and after the CEL usually goes off, it stayed on... When I turned my car off the night before I didn't see the CEL on. So I let it warm up, and no signs of anything running bad. So I continued on with my morning errands. Well about 20 miles later, I stopped at a gas station to fuel up, and met a friend from High School, who I havn't seen in like 3 years. So we continued BSin, and he wanted to see the Turbo set up I was telling him I had. After i Popped my hood, I saw that there was quite a bit of oil ontop of my valve cover, comming out of my breather. Took my dipstick out but nothing unusual happend.
I didn't panic, I just drove home let the car cool a little, and did a compression test. Results were all about 195, so nothing wrong there. I am still getting this blow-by here, and it is bugging me. I ordered a data logger last week so I hope that it shows up sometime to see what that CEL means.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?? Thanks guys..

The same thing happened to my car last year. It sputtered and pushed a lot of oil out the breather, but that was it. After it happened once, it never did it again. I guess just don't worry about it unless it becomes an occuring problem.

That is sort of the approach I am taking, however, I don't like that stupid CEL staring at me in the face in Evening Traffic. Damn DataLogger didn't come again today!! Ahh well.... Can anyone explain what i need to do for a key dance? Cause that will throw me a code in the form of flashing CEL right? If so that is what my Blazer used to do when I would put a paper clip in a couple of the diagnostic holes and turn the ignition to the on position..... So if someone could go over what I need to do to see some flashing CEL's that would be great! Thanks..

Well I did the key dance... Has anyone tried it on a 98? I couldn't get it to work... I have a feeling something else is wrong. For the past couple of mornings i drip about 1/4 quart a night of oil. This hopefully means I get to rebuild my engine in the next couple of weeks.
Oh well, Kaiser, I'll get ahold of you this weekend, so we can try and meet up.. My datalogger still hasn't appeared in the mail
Thanks guys,

Nah, it won't work on a 98. Sorry.
