Well i have one car and thats it. i want boost but still want a daily driver. Its an automatic too..so no gung ho boost. maybe 5psi to 7 psi. Got to make a reliable cause it is a sure long ways to walk to work. What are my options at this point. Maybe HRC stage 1? or star stage 1? Intercooler later?

Don't listen to these jokers.
I've had my kit on my 95 GS for about 8000 miles now with ZERO problems with reliability. The car had 94,000 miles on it when i installed the kit, and about 2000 of those it was running improperly due to a few stupid mistakes my friend and i made on the install. Since those were corrected, it runs like a bat out of hell. Sure, the possibility is always there that you could break something, or destroy your motor outright, but if you do it right and aren't afraid of a little finacial distress, it's all good.

Hasn't been a problem yet. The only oil i've been leaking has been a few drops from the return line where it clamps to the turbo, and a few drops from the feed line where it screws into the T fitting. Not enough to cause any worry, but one of these days i'm going to sit down and re-do the whole damn oil system for the turbo, as i'm not entirely happy with the way we installed it.
Basically, it's holding up fine to 5 PSI. Going to try 7 soon.

Ya, I'm at 5psi, and did 10psi two time ( don't ask ) anyway, I've had 0 problems ( knock on wood ) and I've been driving for almost 3,000 miles. ya, I know that's not much but, it's running perfect. I drove from Chico to Fresno ( about 41/2 hours straight ) with no problem and had better gas milage too, so if you live far enough away from work, you would be saving $$$ eventually by getting a turbo:-)

you may have good luck for several thousand miles but eventually i think you're gonna have problems, and you have to leave room for that. i don't know anyone whose lasted over a year witha turbo kit. our auto tranny can take a lot of power from what i've heard, so just get a bigger cooler for it and get a guage to monitor it, what i'd be worried about is the motor, its internals just weren't designed to be forced. why do you think the 4g63 turbo motors come with forged(or whatver) pistons and rods but the ones they put on the n/t 1g were not? that's just my opinion, i'm by no means a pro, hell i don't even know how a motor works

BLKOUT made it for over a year on stock internals and still going and he runs 12psi on the street. There is one. Check with Jason how his Talon is going. There is another. Also consider that most people here probably have not had the turbo ontheir car for a year yet. When I installed mine, the only one I had even heard of was Adel's which he removed and sold. It is all in the tuning really. I say running Stage II 8psi is VERY doable and if tuned right no worries so go for it. The tranny can handle that type of power as well as long as you are not beating the hell out of it ona daily basis. When you hear about people breaking, it is because oflack of experience/tuning/etc, not because the engine is weak. In hindsight, I know what my problems were, and they were my fault. Not to say you will be guarenteed to not have problems, but if taken care of right it should not be an issue.
I've ran my turbo for over 10k miles now. After this summer, it will have been over a year with my setup. All is well too.
I have some oil condensation from my turbo oil drain line and some blow-by (completely normal for turbocharged cars such as 4g63) but that's it. I always monitor my engine and watch my guages. During any long pulls, I always take a look at my A/f meter and my EGT (of course). Like Chris said, just watch your stuff and you should be fine. (I must have preached that about a million times)
I expect that any turbosystem ran under 5-7 psi could go for the normal duration of the car's life. (almost) When you start running boost amounts over that, you'll probably need to start upgrading other things like clutch and internals. I suspect sooner or later my stock clutch will start slipping, but I feel no sign of that yet. And if you think I run my car like an old lady, you're crazy. (I beat up a GTI and two other wannabes last night)
Little things I want to do include, S-AFC (#1), Bigger injectors, and hook up my intake leak detector for boost leak because I KNOW I have some. With the two big fuel pumps I have right now, I know I'm running somewhat rich.
