#34141, "got my results back..."

Hey all, Been wanting to post here about my results of my motor...been so damn busy acumulating parts.

anyways In order of cylinder 1 through 4:
cylinder 1: Bent rod, pistons okay
cylinder 2: Cracked ringland, about 1.5" long
cylinder 3: slight hairline fracture on the ringland
cylinder 4: cracked ringland and bent rod.

Overall I do not see pit marks on the surface of any pistons...

Maybe the single detonation episode was so sever that my precious stock internals couldn't handle it.. emoji

Anyways the motor is torn down, all parts is here. Car should be back on the road by late next week...hopefully.

Looking forward to force induction with forge parts at 5psi again. Hey, I need the car to last :p

Wow.... 2 bent rods on 5 psi... geez, you must've been detonating real bad. The ring lands don't surprise me at all, but the rods sure do. You have pics of all that broken stuff? It's good to see you'll have it all back in working order soon man.

The break-in has come and gone. I hooked up the secondary fuel rail for the 8 injector setup and it leaks, so I gotta fix that. For the moment, I stuck the old craptech regulator on and am boosting about 7 psi. It is pulling hard as ever so far. Can't wait for 15 psi.

It's just temporary. I disconnected my secondary rail supply line so it doesnt get any fuel, so it doesnt leak. I am only using that fpr until I get a chance to pull the 2nd fuel rail off and seal it off. Once I'm done with that, then I'll be tuning the 8 injector setup and running more boost.

yeah, anything over ~15psi and stock rods will bend. I'm still amazed that mine took it when i spiked to 20PSI twice.

Yea, I'm using the aeromotive. I bought it from summit. As far as the program is concerned, I thought you could download it from the EIC website, but if not, I can try to email them to you.

Cool cool Dan. I got the shop to do the rebuild so I don't have to do much. The shop is really knowledgable, but I will see the final product when i get my ride back.

Let me know if you need help with your shit. I need to rack up 1500-3000 miles for the ring break in. So I need a few destinations to drive to. So far I have in mind your place, James, SanDiego a few times, Laguna beach a few times, and Irvine.

No pic on the pistons and rods, but it is no where as bad as the one Dan posted. I will try to search for someone with a digital that can host it for me.

Thanx for everyone's help on my problem. Looking forward to being back on the road again with new slugs in my motor.

I'd email Javad about the software issue. I know DL'ing one of the files is somewhat of a trick due to its format in a word processing program or something, but I'm the wrong person to talk about with that stuff.

The software has worked just fine for me though.
