Hey everyone, Last night I performed a compression test and the car had kinda cooled down, so we turned it on in the garage and let in run for about 5-10 min. Just wondering if that would be long enough for the numbers to be accurate on the compression test. Also I have read that you only need to let the car turn over about 4 times (1 per cyl) however other's say to keep turning until the needle stops going up... WEll i used the 2nd method and it usually took about 8 cranks for the needle to stop moving... I was really worried about this and was just wondering if you guys think the readings are still accurate? the numbers came out:
~202, 205, 205, ~203

Once again I was pleased with the numbers, just wanted to make sure my method of getting this info was in order... Thanks guys...

10-15 minutes warmup time is more than enough. Those are good numbers, too.

You don't think I could've messed the readings up by cranking it about 8 or so times when taking each cylinders compression reading? Although the needle didn't stop moving until that 8th crank!!

That's normal.
