#33765, "Running 11psi on stock injectors"

I went out tuning my car today and got up to 11psi on my stock injectors emoji My A/F is good, not sure what the vots are, it is about 2 blocks into the rich. I have the blinky autometer guage. My EGT's were decent too, it went up to about 1500. So in a minute I am going on a highway run to really test the EGT numbers. Is this ok can the stock injectors really handle this? Am I getting real numbers? Well got to go do more testing.

This is going to show quick wear on your plugs, and after about a 1000 miles i don't think you will be running rich anymore.
You can continue to try this but you will show some serious wear on your internals. I would try and play it safe.
Question: Is your boost guage at your TB, or tapped in somewhere before the IC, ie the turbo hole?

My boost guage is atached to my intake mani. Why will this hurt my internals, I have forged internals? And it says I am still good A/F wise can you explain?

Ok, at 11psi in 4th and 5th gear the A/F still reads a little rich however the EGT's climbed up to almost 1600 at about 110mph so I let off. So I let it cool down a minute and set boost down to 8-9psi and go for another run. Again in 4th the EGT's climb high about 1550 then 5th at about 110mph the EGT's went up to just under 1600 so I let off. If my A/F is good why are my EGT's so high? What am I missing here?

Sorry at first i didn't read and notice you were running the Howell bottom end kit. However when you starve your engine of fuel you will heat everything up..... Just saying, get plenty of fuel to your motor and you will be safe. I don't know how far I would trust my AutoMeter Blipidy A/F gauge. However, it sounds like everything other then the heat of your exhaust is in order....
You were right in your 3rd post 1600 is awfully hot, I like to keep mine around 12 to 1300tops to be on the safe side. Good Luck with the set up, looks like all you need is a little more fuel and you are ready to go FAST! hehe....

trust your egt over your a/f gauge espec those blinky lights they are not that accurate. egt tell you how hot cool etc your combus is doing. the a/f can say your rich, but in the long run your really doing damage to your pretty internals since your running so hot. i would upgrade those injecs dude, your really maxin them out i would think. get some 440cc or something and say hello to 15psi ..well of course with a ignition and a wideband etc.
good luck

Well I have 315's ready to go in this week. I was just trying to see what I could safely get out of the stockers. I would have thought that I could have easily gotten 8-9psi but the EGT's are king of high so I guess not. I don't have any ignition yet so when I throw in the 315's I will only boost 13psi. I also hope to get a S-AFC this week too, I can't wait.

I think you are really pushing those stocks to its limits. Although all your gauges look ok, I wouldn't recommend boosting like that too long. Two lights into the green, that's about a .90-.92 volts, which isn't bad.
