Hey everyone, here's the deal. My girlfriend and her dad are way into cars, and they gave me a turbo and all the goodies for my 97 RS for free. Pretty much all I need is the manifold and gauges. Anyways, I have a friend with a 2000 SI that thinks I shouldn't put it on my car. He thinks I'll ruin it and that RS's aren't built for turbos, and blah, blah, blah. My dad is a mechanic, and my g/f's dad has a 500 HP jeep and a 700 HP Mustang, so he knows what he's doing. I will have the money to fix whatever breaks, the only thing holding me back is my car just hit 90,000 miles. Well, do you think I should do it and shoot for some boost, or listen to my friend with the SI and let him keep on beating me???

Do a compression test to verify integgrity of the internals and if its 180-210 your fine and can boost away
What turbo is it, changes are it might be too big to fit not all turbos are created equal, and if youve got the money just get an HRC turbo kit, its probably gonna cost you the same money once you start piecing parts together for the custom kit
