a buddy of mine gave me his old 2g smic with all the piping, 2g bov, and a halman mbc. I know alot of poeple use the 1g smic, but is it possible to use the one from a 2g? Also, wich is better the 3000gt bov(hrc) or the bov from the 2g? tia

the 2g one like cant handle boost past 15 psi (leaks) from what I've read on dsmtalk, if I remember correctly

Your biggest problem with the 2g smic, is the inlet/outlet locations. It will take some modifing for it to fit properly, with good airflow on the driver side front. All 2g 4g63's have the IC on the passenger side of the front bumper. I use the 1g, fits great, and with good airflow, it can cool lots of air. I got the IC from a guy who ran mid 12's on it, with his 1g AWD, so you know it works at high pressure. Airflow accross the IC is very imporant. You can find used 1g smic's on ebay and in junk yards cheap. Around 50 bucks or so..
