spring??

standard spring

psi.

turn the main adjuster screw down very far. probably 3 or 4 or so full rotations before bottoming out and tune from there

???

read the long post about it. if you are scared, take 5 degrees out and work up. you shouldn't need any timing retard if your setup is like 96venger's. you should have abotu 18 degrees of timing advance, which is fine for 15 psi and 93 octane gas.......if tuned properly.

>
>S-AFC settings???

you ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY MUST go to a dyno or use a wideband o2 sensor on the street to tune this properly. you shoudl need no low throttle adjustments if your o2 sensor is working properly

kinda clueless on this one..

ANY aftermarket bot shoudl be able to hold 17 psi..........some don't. pressure test your system to make sure your bov is good enough. this is why I use the greddy type-S (solid till 30 psi max.......proven)

THROW THAT POS MANUAL BOOST CONTROLLER IN THE GARBAGE!!!! that is 96vengers BIGGEST problem right now. his car overshoots 4 psi because of this. shell out the cash and buy a profec B. you will b MUCh happier when you try to tune the car. tuning for 12 psi when the car shoots up to 16 is not easy or fun. then try tuning for 16 psi when the car shoots up to 21. VERY not fun.

He states that he has the Turbo XS high performance boost controller. Ball and spring/bleed valve......works very well for a manual. I have never spiked more than .5 psi at any setting from 7 psi to 12 psi. The turbo XS standard boost controller sucks ass.

I say keep it!

all I know is the one with the 2 adjusters on it or whatever could not control a super 16g turbo properly.

Maybe it did not like the internal wastegate for some reason. A friend of mine used the standard controller on his 2G GSX with a super 20G(internal wastegate). The damn thing spiked boost and would not let him run over 20 psi. We think it would not bleed enough pressure and this is with the set screw turned all the way out.

I have seen the high performance one control the boost on a 1G fwd 4g63 race car. He ran 30psi on a Garrett 60-1(external deltagate) with a 100 shot of nitrous. The boost was always rock steady within a psi or so.

just more info.

My turboXS high performance boost controller is a bit sketchy as well. It likes to spike a bit(about 2psi currently set@10psi). Electronic boost controllers are superior to manuals, plain and simple. Manuals will do the job though....just not as precise.

YES THROW it AWAY!!!!!!
Ever since I have been having problems with mine, I have been talking to people around here that own it.
Everyone I have talked to say theres spikes at LEAST 3-4 psi.
Like Avenger ES-T said, you will want to get a different controller before you start to tune, because that will be a huge problem if you want 16 psi.
I could be running 18-20 psi if I had an accurate controller but I am only running 12 because of that.
