I rebuilt so that I would not blow, and sold my old block. Worked out good for me.

Ring or ring landing went out. I bought a pre-built motor that I planned on swapping in later but the old motor blew so I had to stick the new one in.

I initially bought a stage one kit, the got an IC and made all my piping. I'm in the process of rebuilding, now, though, so I guess I should be in the stage 2 then rebuilt category.

I'm doing something entirely different since I'm a complete moron :-D. Right now a few friends and I are working on putting together a custom turbo setup. Still looking into which turbo to use though. The options thus far are: Stock turbo from a Turbo DSM, Garret T3?(thats what I was told it was) from a Mack Truck, or a Single turbo from a supra. Call me a moron, call me what you will, but if it works I'll be happy, and if not... well... I'm just not gonna think about that. Is there anyone on the boards who has done a custom turbo setup? btw... I'm not some silly ricer kid, the friends I am speaking of are actual mechanics, and are specialists in imports. One of them is a mechanic in the national guard, so we're not just a bunch of kids getting together saying "hey this will be cool." Opinions are welcome (just hold off on the hate please, I get enough of that on dsmtalk)

my engine actually blew BEFORE my turbo (heh... nice!) and i had it factory rebuilt because my parents wouldn't let me build the bottom end better than stock. so i thought to myself "hey, with a factory rebuilt engine that will take a decent amount of boost reliabaly... so i finally boosted. fun.

i plan on getting a 1g smic and custom piping, a boost controller, and some other misc stuff like larger injectors sometime soon, then i'll build it up before going over 9ish psi.
