ok, my clutch blew up, and without thinking, i dropped it off at a transmission shop. they opened up my tranny and called me today at 6 to tell me that my clutch blew up. they want to give me a stock clutch with a full warranty on parts. i explained to the guy that i currently have nitrous, and i plan to go turbo very soon and that i think i'll need a stronger clutch. he told me that it might be a better idea, but that he would give me a 5 year (i think?) warranty the stock clutch and also the labor. he told me that the stock clutch is pretty strong. he also said that my car was now tying up one of his lifts, and that if i had to order a performance clutch, i would have to have it RUSH shipped because his shop can't afford to have a lift tied up.
does anyone else out there have a stock clutch running stage 2?
my question is will my car be okay at 9psi on a stock clutch? i don't plan to ever go any higher than 9psi. please help me by tomorrow morning. i gotta make the final call. if stock isn't ok, is there anyplace that can quickly send me a stage 2 or 3 clutch. i've got the money right now. can local shops get parts like that overnight?

well I pulled my stock clutch off at 92000 miles (13000 of which were stage 2 turbo'd) I was boosting about 8.5 psi the whole time. When I pulled my clutch off, it still had a decent amount of life in it by looking at the disk facings. I'd say that if he's gonna give you a 5 year warrenty including parts and labor, then you might as well just do it (as long as they will stay in business hehe).

Stock clutch should be able to handle Stage 2 turbo and NOS. But if you repeatedly abuse it it's gonna have a low life span, haha any clutch will have a low lifespan if you do that with it haha. Its a miracle I'm at like 97k and my clutch still grabs. I'm lookin into a LuK clutch for when i rebuild though.
That's a nice car you got there. I got the same front as you. But my dad ruined it recently You've got almost the exact body setup I'm looking for I'm goin for that EVO 5 look. haha when you get that turbo kit and you have a FMIC get ready to trim that sucka though, I had to trim the crap out of mine to get it to fit. Got pix of how you mounted dem driving lamps? Do people fear you when you roll up behind them with those lights blazin?
