I was wondering if its true that a turbo will not boost if you just hit the gas when parked? Thanx

Your Garage is not worthy
For the Masterpiece you built
That only looks like it cost a Fortune
While most flaunt their cars by going fast
You show off Standing Still

if you have a really small turbo then you might be able to build boost. But i cannot build boost while in neutral

If i rev the motor to about 5 or 6 grand, then quickly let off the gas, i can build a few pounds of boost, and my BOV will go off just like when driving/shifting....

afaik, the only way to build usable boost when stopped is to do the stutterbox mod, or powerbrake if you're auto. Neither of these is in neutral though.

the bov will go off, but only cause you have a serious vacuum/boost change when you drop the throttle at 6k. its enough to trip the spring in the bov, but not enough to make positive usable pressure.

Yep, ya got to have the stutter box.

If I set mine at like 6500 and if its not too hot out I can build 8psi. Not that it does any good being fwd.

The stutter box is great for the track even if you only set it to like 3500.

yeh mine don't build boost I"ll see if it will make the BOV go off at 6k though haha I don't think i've ever tried it that high. So hehe if we have dyno smogging bye bye turbos. You gotta have a small turbo to build boost in neutral like they said too.

I get a lotta people ask me that "Hey rev it up I wanna hear the BOV" Haha I always tell them "nah it won't do it it needs to be under load". Heck my BOV don't even go off in 1st gear cuz there's not enough load.

My RFL goes off at 4500RPM but it's not even half as loud as street driving and venting at 8psi. People always want to hear it, but you have to take them for a ride for the full effect.

The sound reminds me of those old 70's action cartoon sound effects though lol.

If i rev my engine to at leat 5 grand, then let off the gas, my TurboXS BOV will go off just as loud as normal driving. My boost gauge will not really go over 1 psi though..I do it all the time when at the weekend car hangout..really gets everone's attention emoji But yeah, you cant really build much more boost than that while revving it.. It may be just a bit louder when at 10 psi though emoji
