Don't forget to subtract the headers and intake since he said "before going turbo." I assume that he is saying that he will be going turbo in the future and an intake and headers will be useless then emoji.

If you plan to go turbo, then don't do too much. Just hack your stock intake pipe and put on a K&N filter or something. Maybe, add an underdrive pulley, and a nice cat-back exhaust. Intake and headers will not be used when you go turbo, because the intake and exhaust manifold will be different.

If your plans are to go turbo and you need something to spend your money on then don't buy any of that crap in your list. Buy a 3 inch exhaust and a 3 inch cat or straight pipe. Buy bigger injectors a S-AFC and a data logger. Don't listen to anyone else but me.

before going turbo... compression test (then you will know if you need new pistons or rings, etc).
Needed mods for max turbo performance:
2.5" exhaust unless you want to push over 300 hp then get 3"

Recomended mods:
-Port, polis intake mani.
-bored throttle body
-UDP

Nice mods, or needed if going over 9 psi (assuming you already have a fmic):
-bigger injectors - or 8 injector set up (nicer IMO)
-ignition
-rebuilt bottom end
-sfmu
-data logger

Cool mods:
-new ECU
-SAFC

Hope that helps.

I don't know about those numbers exactly, but 2.5" is perfectly ideal for a stage 1 or stage 2 420A turbo system. Stage 2+ systems will definitely benefit from 3"+ pipes.

Even though the gains are minimal at lower psi it's still a gain. If you can buy one exhaust rather than 2 then that's money in your pocket!

What I meant is that a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust will be sufficient if you are not planning on running upwards of 300 hp (stages 3 and up). If you are then a 3" will lessen the backpressure and allow for better performance, not saying that you couldnt just keep the 2.5".

I agree with the physics principle but I can't agree from an economics standpoint. A 3inch exhaust is a good size because it works if your boosting 2lbs or 20lbs. Moreover it can never be worse than 2 1/2inch. 3inch will be the 1st and last exhuast you buy.

porting an polished helps. bored TB and stuff helps too. You might want to invest in an oil cooler also. Hehe and perhaps some brake upgrades emoji Oh yeh don't forget motor mount inserts, you inserts will get tore up with all that turbo torque.
